A lot to catch up on but I've not seen too many mentions of him on here.
First of all when walked out on to the pitch I actually thought I know why Critch hasn't picked him.
He just doesn't look like he has the physicality for a Championship CB.
HOWEVER he does have plenty of good attributes.
He's strong in the tackle, has good awareness, positional sense and can pick a team mate out with a pass.
I just wonder whether he could move a bit further forward into a defensive mid-field role?

He showed last season that he was as good as any we had at CB.He may have had the odd injury but he`s played for Iceland this season I cannot understand why he hasn`t played for us before this season.

Insiders suggestion of a defensive midfield role for him as another option seems a good idea as he is constructive.

How boring!! When we are talking about defenders. I could have played in this team in my prime. It’s the rest of the shite that needs sorting out. We don’t attack as a collective. There is no real connection between the midfield and attackers.
Football reminds me of a game of Cuppies you played as a kid, meaning the ball giot launched down the pitch, everyone got behind the ball and defended and some lucky bastard scored. Yes there was always a phantom dribbler, yes there was a guy who could Always shoot like a canon ball but there was always defenders. And usually lots of them. We need more shooters, chancers, deffo people that can head a ball straight after seeing Anderson today. At 1-3 we would have been out of site.
Im not sure about Critch, sacrilege I know but he’s too defensive in my opinion and is certainly costing us now.

Good to have him back, think he was marking thei guy for their first, maybe if he managed to stick with him a bit more he might not have powered it in.

But was whipped in.

Costing us? Costing us a mid table place in the Championship after taking over a L1 shambles not long ago? Yeah right!

Lost his man for the first goal from where I was stood, his only other appearance this season was at home to Sunderland and he wasn't to great that night

Yea mate, championship football is just the same as when you had a kick about with your mates as a kid 🤣

Maybe, but I'd prefer Keogh and Marvin back because when they were on a run in the side together we looked a lot more solid
I think it's a close call. We did have a good run with Keogh, so perhaps, but he took a few games to bed in.

I think it's way too early to judge a player that just hasn't ever had a decent run in the team. None of us really know how good he is as you can't really tell based off a handful of games. Think he played 12 league games for us last season and now 1 this season in a higher league. He needs a run of 10-15 games before we can see if he's capable. Ekpiteta wouldn't still be with us if we'd judged him based on one or two of his early appearances. If he can keep his place for the next few games then we may see what he's really like.

Im grateful for what we have but dont want to settle for mediocrity when we could do better. As I said, too defensive and inviting teams onto us. Thats another 3pts lost yday and how many games have we thrown away this season, like that??

It's very easy to type words onto an internet forum, it's much more difficult to orchestrate victories on a football pitch against teams with much more money, like Huddersfield. We went defensive for a reason. We had a man sent off. The fact we played better than parachute payment Huddersfield on their patch with 11 men is testament to what a great job Critch is doing. But he's not perfect, he's learning and he makes mistakes. Yesterday did he get it wrong? Maybe, slightly, in hindsight. But he mostly got it right and then was the victim of Gabriel's daftness, which he maybe should have anticipated.

I prefer to look at all the stuff that was good, and the progress that we keep making under Critch. We keep improving. He needs to strengthen a bit in January, and he knows that.

I think he is a class defender, calm & composed , plus he fits in well with big Marv , as left footed, just needs a run in the team to get fully up to speed!

If he becomes as quick as husband to anticipate the play, he'll start more games. I agree with the above, he will only get better with game time an should start next game

I thought he was at fault for the first goal
And seemed “shaken” for first 20 mins and wasn’t sure he was 100% fit.

As game got on he got “better & better” and pretty much agree with majority of comments above, in tgat he should keep his place for next few games where hopefully he will get better stil!!! 🚌🚢🧡#87

We are not really in a position to give players a run of games just to see if they are up to the task of playing in the Championship

so what you are saying is. It was grettarsons fault even though 2nd goal we had 10 men and third goal we effectively only had 9 men on
No. I’m saying he was beaten to the ball for there first goal and then had an ok game. No need to rim him between Marv keogh and hubby we have 3 other centre halves who are as good if not better.

personally i thought the third goal should have been the keepers ball had three chances at it, its your area take control of it and get hold of the ball take two or three players with you if need bee as long as you get the ball no problem if you don't get the ball its a penalty at worst but still chance to save it.
i hate it when goalkeepers stay at home as Chissey likes to say.

Bar the obvious mistake for the goal we looked solid when it was him and Ekky - became an utter dog's dinner when he threw Sterling and Keogh on!
