David Dunne

Worst possible scenario 👎

Blackpool Football Club can announce that David Dunn has been placed in caretaker charge of the first-team.
The Seasiders’ First-Team Coach steps up to the role following the departure of Simon Grayson. The Club can also confirm that Assistant Manager Ian Miller has now left his position with The Seasiders.
Chief Executive Ben Mansford said:
“I would like to thank Simon Grayson and Ian Miller for all their hard work since I joined the Club. Simon is a proper football man and someone I enjoyed working alongside. Unfortunately, despite Simon’s best efforts, the results did not come over recent times. I wish Simon and Ian all the very best for the future.”
Owner Simon Sadler added:
“Given his past success here, Simon Grayson will always be a part of the Club’s history and I would like to wish both him and Ian Miller well for the future. While the process of appointing a new manager gets underway, I would like to thank David Dunn for agreeing to take charge in the interim.”

At the time that David Dunn was appointed I immediately said Larry needs to watch his back. I can't help but feel that his arrival at the club coincided with the bad run of results. He was poor at Oldham, he looks like you classic 'football man' who holds a clipboard to make him look like he knows what he's doing and I never respect anyone who backstabs the person who has brought them in by staying on.

Don't trust the guy and the only good thing is that it looks like they'll have a proper process to appoint the next man.

Seems pretty routine tbh. If things don't improve under Dunn it doesn't really matter, he won't be in contention for the full time role.

Allows them to thankfully be able to pay due diligence in the search for the right man.

He’ll be in charge just long enough to sort out compensation for the new manager and his assistant

Give the guy a chance, might want to play a completely different system to Grayson and the players might pucker up abit more for him. It’s only temporary

Giving Dunn the caretaker position will give SS and the board time to assess the managers available for a permanent appointment. Better than a quick panic appointment, imo.

Hopefully though he proves to be a good temp manager and we finish the season on a high. We should give him a chance and our full backing as caretaker

Give him a chance and support whilst he is in charge temporarily. It's right not to rush and the the permanent appointment needs to be right.

Some saying may as well have kept Larry? Not really as its him who people have turned against.

Support him for however long.

Where does it say he will be here until the end of the season, as some think?
This is standard procedure while they sort out a new manager, which I think will be sooner rather than later.

Anything is better than Grayson's boring unbalanced tactics. Give Dunn at least one game to improve things. Surely he's better than Grayson! Anyone would be better than Grayson!!!!!

Go on then, I'll say it; Evo is not the man for us. Yes he's doing great at Barrow but he needs a lot more experience yet.
As a newly ambitious club we need a tried and tested coach to take the reins and continue the good stuff 'off the field' that SS has instilled and transfer it to 'on the field' success.

Someone like Simon Grayson?
