David McGoldrick - and the haters keep on hating

There's an awfully long hill to be climbed here. Why are we in this position? Haven't years of changes to the structure of mainstream education achieved anything? We've been told that the Academy system and Free schools have been the golden fleece we've needed to ensure that"no-one is left behind" in the brave new world of education.
Of course, it's baloney isn't it? Nothing has changed. The rich and well-to-do benefit from a good education whilst the poor get nothing: nothing at home, nothing from their peers and teachers doing their best against the odds. That is why we have ill-educated people, with access to social media, spouting filth and vitriol at obvious targets - GLMBT and BAME - without any shame because of ignorance.
Blair got it partly right with 'education, education, education.' But that only succeeds when it is supported by 'quality jobs, quality jobs, quality jobs.'
