Deliveroo - just eat , etc

Got to be the easiest sting ever for the rozzers and hmrc.

Bring in a bonus scheme for the organisations workers involved where they each get £x for each one found breaking the law, with a massive annual bonus if you get them deported.

It would be like a Wolf of Wall St party come bonus day - and the country would be as empty as the PNE end at Wembley come final whistle.

Surely these should all be investigated - and if found to have been hiring illegals then shut them down simples

Maybe, but at least that is a legitimate business activity with plenty of demand. I think I would probably prefer they focus on things that aren’t.

Food deliveries work with a legal person will sign up for multiple accounts then take up to 30% cut fom each. No one knows any names

Government should issue mandatory ID cards to anyone granted asylum and then make the platforms liable for any illegals found working. Also as the bikes are used for commercial gain make them all have some form of insurance.

Slight drift, Uber are at the Supreme Court in a few days arguing about the VAT charged on the total fare rather than their profit margin, current figure disputed with HMRC is around £1.4 Billion !!

Government should set the rules not the tech companies

There's a major modern slavery trade going on too in many of the industries named as well as construction, waste management etc. Offer someone a job on entry (legal or illegal), take their passport, control their banking, threaten their family at home if they complain. Happening here and now all over the UK. Prosecuting authorities should concentrate on those at the top, organised criminals operating both the means to get here and the bonded labour routes. Doing very well out of our country at the expense of the desperate, gullible and naive.

I’m not sure how a migrant with no documentation would function in this country. I moved back after years in the US and companies were hesitant to hire me, had to get documents from the FBI showing I had no criminal record, docs from immigration showing I wasn’t deported, had to show US tax documents, DBS check took a month and I have a UK passport and NI number. All in all took me 6 months to find a job with 8 different companies saying my time abroad was an impediment.

Luckily I don’t need it but during that time I was ineligible for any assistance from the government, no idea how someone “off the boat” so to speak would survive.

How many Turkish barbers does a town need, never seen anyone in any of them?
They are selling skilled worker visas, that's why there's so many of them. I saw an article saying one place in London had sponsored 80 people last year. It's not being policed at all it's bizarre.

As I've posted a thousand times on here how about the Police actually Policing.

Crime really does pay in the this country as you've got barely fuck all chance of getting caught.

In the Black Economy I suppose. I guess it depends what type of job you are applying for as to whether or not there are any real checks or not?
I have read somewhere before that one of the attractions of the UK for migrants is the lack of regulations in some parts of the labour market.

They don’t need any documentation, if they get here without being caught and put in hotels, they work in established take aways, car washes, nail bars, barbers, restaurant kitchens etc. even if they’re in hotels they still work, it’s a win win
