Deluded Ridsdale and Nobbers

I’d be more than happy to follow that up with a swift jab to their testicles with a pencil, not one of the normal pencils but one of the ones that joiners use with a wide end, joiners think they are so clever with special pencils but they aren’t as they don’t fit in a pencil Sharpner, whoever invented those wasn’t thinking outside the box- it’s impossible to sharpen an oval pencil without using a Stanley knife

They have those pencils so that when they miscut a bit of laminate edging they can simply use the pencil to complete it to the wall.

No one ever notices, honestly, if you've got laminate check the edging against your walls in all of your house, there'll be a carpenters pencil somewhere.

I remember taking pencils to the teacher back in the 60s so he/she could sharpen them with a sharpener with a handle.

Although I have limited knowledge of laminate flooring I have checked & yes I do have 18 carpenters pencils jammed between the skirting & the laminate, I’m pretty gutted to be honest & wish you’d never mentioned it

I’ll admit to not reading the drivel on this thread.

The only post which stood out as I scanned was bfcx3. We all know he’s a bit of a loose one but I agree: who cares?

Fuck em. Let them lose the revenue. Nowt to see here. Those who want to be in Preston that afternoon/evening /night will be.

I think we’ll lose this one btw but it will be the last one for some years to come. Will still be there as we have to, whatever the ticketing nonsense. Can see dispersal notices for all of us 🤷🏻‍♂️

Cheers 😘

Another Plastic here 😉

Poor show from North End and Mr Ridsdale. An idiot for spouting off like that on Twitter . Their ground is more than big enough to house the home fans that want to go , with enough seats left for Blackpool to have all one end .

These historical Lancashire town derby games are what football in this area is all about . Much rather watch Rovers v Blackpool , Rovers v PNE and Rovers v Burnley than Rovers v any of the Sky teams aka Liverpool , Man Utd and City .

The game at Deepdale ( like at Bloomfield) should be a full house , atmosphere and passion by the bucket load . The only conclusion you can reach is , after their decision to limit your allocation , they fear a big Blackpool following
I'd agree, I think it's crazy as clear it won't be a sell out and t'lashers could easily fill the BSK & still ample room in the rest of the ground.

I'd personally rather have a full away end, better atmosphere & maximise ticket revenue.

When we've given you the whole of the away we'd you've always brought a good following & the atmosphere has been better. Deepdale needs 18/19k on to get decent atmosphere, currently hovering at crowds less than 50% capacity & its not great.

Very petty & counter productive and shirt sighted in my view.....

As for Ridsdale, condescending so and so. I'm sick of his arrogant lectures and BS.

Others on here have mooted the idea of us nobbers forcing the issue to get him out. It may need to come to that.

Anyway I'm with you on supporting the Lancashire sides. My old man is Rovers & I've been on a good few times in the home end. Once wore my white home shirt when you hammered t'dingles 5-0! Confused the fuck out some Rovers fans but was jeering the dingles just as much as your lot!

Will be interesting to see what happens with Brereton, good chance he will end up a claret now Wood gone.....

North End brought circa 4,500 this season . Rovers tend to charge big money for tickets in the big derby games . I think ( and stand to be corrected) the PNE tickets were £30 .
Correct- a good £10 than most other fixtures. Silly really. Been on a good few times on the Darwen end, usually pretty full when pricing has been reasonable.

Now now Triumph I had you down as one of the sensible ones from the dark end of the M55.
Thank you very much MBU, all I was trying to do was to tell him to make a sensible, articulate expression of his opinions . Once made then move on otherwise he will only get agitated and where does that leave him. But once again thanks for your thoughts.

Knobbers have shots themselves in the foot, pool only have them so many tickets cause of security reasons not to be awkward hence why we only get an extra 1k so they have now got back at blackpool so next season blackpool will just return the favour again so it’s gonna be another old firm situation.

Blackpool do need a plan to develop the ground, your one of the most popular if not thee most popular away days teams who normally bring crap numbers to this region bring bigger numbers to you so you should be maxing your profits, you should be looking at being able to host 4-5k away fans like rovers, knobbers, Wigan and Bolton, even acct Stanley can host similar numbers to what you can so hopefully you sort the east side out as I do like Bloomfield not bad at all it’s improved since you put a concourse into the south east corner rather than the terrible facilities before that, tbqh I like all grounds in this region even turd mood is alright for what it is it’s different, DW and Deepdale are simple 4 steep stands which you can’t go wrong with so always enjoy going there even though our luck hasn’t been there over the years especially wigsn I’ve visited 8 times since 07 never seen us win yet

Oi, stop it. You're being reasonable and intelligent unlike the other 98% of PNE fans that have visited this site.

Brereton will be aiming higher than Turf Moor. Rovers could even swap places with them this summer, and the likes of Sevilla have shown an interest, and he has a taste for travel now!

The owner has said a new east stand to complete the stadium is on the to-do list, and they've had discussions with the council. But it will be part of a redevelopment of the surrounding area apparently. However, he's also said a new training ground is the top priority, so I personally wouldn't expect our stadium to be completed for probably another five years at least. But I'm confident it will get done.

I think the best thing about the stadia of all four main Lancashire clubs is that they've all chosen to redevelop the existing ground and stay in the same location. There is nothing worse that a club can do than moving to an out of town location like Bolton.

Aye completely agree we all remain at our spiritual homes, developing our riverside stand is on the to do list of ours too, new plans have been drawn up which will see the old 90s ones put in the bin but we need the cash so getting promoted will give it a boost as I know the ceo wants to develop and put in new facility’s that will make money on non March days

He won’t go near turd moor

1 they wouldn’t pay his asking price
2 they are going down
3 why would we sell to our arch rivals ?

Yeah that's what I said.

Anyway they have been linked with Benteke and Origi. And Andy Carroll. I'd say no chance with Origi, but the others may be feasible given that their clubs will be pretty happy to get them off the wage bill I'd imagine.

There's so much bitterness involved in the Preston behaviour. Why are they so bitter? Maybe cos they are just stagnant, and dull. As someone said on the Seasiders Podcast tonight, while we've gone through the boycott, court case, new ownership, Premier League to League Two and back up the Championship and beaten them again, bugger all has happened to them. I think they're jealous, it must be so dull.
The town (or city as it is now) is also very dull. There are no redeeming features or buildings of note. The people are mostly miserable buggers and it is just depressing. An inland mill town with mill town mentality, a bit like Royston Vasey, dark, weird and with an interbred population. I worked there for 30 years and there is something about the average Prestonian that isn't right? Most of them ARE bitter, angry and have a big chip on their shoulder.

As for the football club and their fans. They are living in the 1880s! They can't understand that they are a nondescript, average club who will never achieve anything other than petty squabbles.

PNE = Premier Never Ever

Have only just realised that the nobbers and Rovers games are in the same week, 4 days apart.
you’ve just prompted me to look pal as i wasn’t aware either ! Well let’s hope we use this game as a must go to and hopefully take 4+k, which we should do tbh.

I agree with the majority that this is just petty, pointless and self defeating. I would genuinely much prefer us to have a big away end and be able to accommodate three or 4000 away funds, but at the moment we simply can’t.

The simple fact is that we sold out the home stands well in advance of match day.

They could have given us the whole of the stand and still would not have sold out the home ends, well they never have done

We’ll now probably be looking at 18-19k with 4-5k empty seats that could have been used. Where is the logic in that ??

At the very least they should have kept the other half of the away stand empty and challenge the Preston fans to sell out to the other stands and then offer those seats to their fans, I don’t think any of us would’ve objected to that. If you remember Oldham did the same in the 2007 play-off game and we end up the whole stand

They did not do that because they know that they would end up embarrassed when they had to go cap In hand and send the other 3000 tickets to Bloomfield Road

The pressure is on Ridsdale to sell out so expect to see tickets priced accordingly, maybe free tickets to schools if necessary.

Yep expect unprecedented effort, tickets are going on sale soon nearly 3 months before the game.

Price, deals, game moved to coincide with Tom Finney birthday.

Probably pay random people to attend next.

Not sure how they're able to get the game moved to a date that suits them also not sure how the police, who deemed it unsafe at Bloomfield Road for fans to be near each other in the east, (even though they were within meters in the south) that now its suddenly OK to have both sets of fans in 1 stand.

If there's any trouble it'll look ridiculous that they specifically moved fans from other areas into that area. So not sure how that's been squared.

You keep insisting it was the Police. It wasn’t. It was a decision by Pool.

If it kicks off on the Liverpool Legend Kop it will be down to one imbecile only....

I am amazed that the plod are allowing Nobbers to re-allocate where they sit, to be directly alongside the away support in a local derby?

Should be fiesty! 😉

That is a good point, reduced away supporters due to policing concerns yet encouraging home fans to switch to the same stand, quality policing yet again

And that's a quote from Nicholas Pesvner.

No it was police advice.

Chief executive Ben Mansford said of the Preston game: “The police, who we ask to help us manage the threat of any disorder and risk, have been very clear that this is a high-risk fixture, as everyone would acknowledge, and they do not feel comfortable there being more than 2,200 Preston fans in the stadium.”

Advice maybe, but ultimately the decision was down to the club.

As to your other point about them suddenly deciding it’s okay to have both sets of fans in the same stand, I would imagine it’s because that’s exactly what happened in October?

Maybe the same police did'nt want 5000 Lashers at your gaff either .😉

They aren't going to go against police advice.

Also not sure if you saw but we had 2 full blocks and a media section in between those 800 pool fans and the pne fans. (yet only a meter or so in the south 🤷)

The can't be that far apart in your stand. Easily within throwing distance which seemed to be a big concern at Bloomfield but now suddenly is fine at Deepdale.

I’m not a Preston fan FYI, I don’t support either club, I’m just a local resident with a vested interest in Blackpool FC.

Helps to be unbiased when it comes to these situations! Therefore I can say that Preston are being extremely petty but in my opinion, it’s understandable given the way the situation was handled by BFC.

They will probably lose less than £100k by giving out less tickets to away fans which is chicken feed in modern football.

Bfc were following police advice, very ott but hardly surprising given how incompetent they proved themselves with fans outside the stadium.

How did BFC handle the situation, do you think?
They initially announced that it was unsafe to house fans in that side of the East stand and stated that it was the police that had made this decision. Fair enough, makes perfect sense given the issues from the North this season.

They then put further tickets on sale to home fans. So the police have just decided that it’s fine now to have fans from both clubs in the same stand? That doesn’t really make much sense.

I think if they’d just come out and said that they were waiting to see if the home demand was there for the tickets then there wouldn’t have been any issues.

Yet that’s not what happened at all is it… Which if you weren’t a knob ender you’d already know. 😂

My take on it is ,the inept police say you cant put fans in the North section of the east stand. BFC ask can we put home fans in there ,yes say the inept police as they dont have to police them ,that makes finincial sense to me . Also there is sufficient segregation in the east to justify it.
