Apologies if someone’s posted on here already. 67th minute on Tuesday night.
Lifelong fan Derek Duckworth passed away last Friday. He worked at the club for years in the Gold bond department and was the meet and greet on match days. He also used to take people on tours of the ground and loved sharing the tales of our club with whoever he could.
Had the pleasure of working with Ducky and calling him a friend, like I know many fellow Seasiders will have as well.
A truly great man. 🧡
Chris Hull has shared a post which I’ve attached…

I remember in the 1980s when we had a `Save Our Club' night in the Tangerine Club, and he made a huge impression to everyone present, when without warning, this fearsome character (Derek) stood up in front of the packed room and shouted out that he would die for this football club, if he needed to.

Never met him personally, but I know he was a huge Blackpool fan.

Nobber here with nothing but absolute respect.

Derek's daughter is a good friend of mine and I know she's felt the outpouring of love shown towards her dad since he passed last week.

All rivalries aside, your fans and your club have shown great respect for the man and while I don't want to speak on behalf of his family, I am sure it has been very much appreciated at such a difficult time.

Fair play lads.

RIP Derek.
