Disgraceful

I don't agree with the SR fans doing that, but you can't expect everyone out there in other countries to have the same attitude surely? Places where British troops have killed people over the years. An attitude to the British has been passed down the generations there, and in other parts of the world. You reap what you sow.

Agree to some extent, but the Queen shook the hand of Gerry McGuinness, commander of the ira who killed her close relativ, and simple human respect should be observed. Quite simply, they’re morons.

Of course, football morons, like football morons everywhere.

Let's not forget 1,400 British Army personnel died on deployment in Northern Ireland. Who, exactly, was killing who?

I get it, but it’s just not healthy and breeds more hate, not only in Ireland but here in England too. Think social media has a part to play in it too. Ultimately time should heal wounds, not sure that can be the case anymore when you’re sharing hate and bringing up old greviences, long after those who inflicted them or suffered them have passed. Basically passing on the burdens of the past to the future.

Sorry for the rant!

Who planted protestants in the North of Ireland who in turn treated catholics like 2nd class citizens. Our historical treatment of Ireland is abysmal, perhaps look it up some time?

Martin McGuinness
Gerry Adams

Two different people.

It wasn't all SR fans, just a few, by the way

I'm personally in favour of a united Ireland, but I don't find celebrating the death of the Queen acceptable. She was a figurehead and in no way responsible for political decisions that were taken. The Queen even agreed to meet Martin McGuiness. She was a force for good and reconciliation. Why the Shamrock Rovers fans thought it was acceptable to celebrate her death is beyond me.

I agree, but it's what happens. Plenty hatred goes the other way too.

Because they're ignorant youths who don't know anything.
