Not a sniff there will ever be half a million dead. Just look at Sweden, Belarus, Tanzania and the 8 US states which didn't lockdown. However, I'm not against the idea that we've 'gone Swedish' covertly. I just wish we'd dispense with the social shaming bollocks.

You aren't allowed to mention Belgium. Or Peru. And Sweden can only ever be compared to its neighbouring countries. Thems the rules. Does anyone ever test these tired old assumptions? I don't know and care even less.

As an aside, it is interesting that on a thread where one poster makes an outlandish comment about 1/2million dead pensioners, I am pulled to one side for a private chat about population density in world nations 😂

Back to the OP - Of course, they are taking the piss. The German courts have recently stopped their bars closing early as there is insufficient evidence that shutting them achieves anything. I had to nurse a bowl of chips for three hours yesterday - these measures are painfully absurd "but if it saves one life" lol.

For those that perpetually bang on about Sweden and their magnificent "leave them all to it policy" - perhaps read a bit of news. The Covid rate there is shooting up and they are beginning localised lock downs.

😀 tbf ok ur not concerned about it & of course ur entitled to an opinion. It doesnt mean its the correct one though.
I really miss going to the pub so get where you are coming from but im pretty concerned about it so tend not to go & abide by the guidelines.
If some others took it more seriously its safe to say it probably wouldnt be on the rise again.

Lets be honest though you eat chips as a loophole to flaunt regulations, arent arsed about the virus & primarily just want to suit themselves rather than make an effort be more socially responsible.

I dont know your personal circumstances,
Are you not allowed to drink at home?
Will the missus not let you?
Do you live alone and feel isolated so you need the pub?
Perhaps you need the pub as an escape/break from family life?

Or maybe you are just self centred & always do what you want? 🤪

They do seem to be concentrating on gaffes by Hancock. It's almost like they're trying to deflect attention from the top.
