Does Larry inspire you?

In one breath Grayson says we were great and played well and in the next breath he says we have to improve. I can't put my finger on it but, even earlier in the season when we were playing well, he just didn't exude the confidence and the character that you look for in a manager. In a way, he's a bit Terry McPhillips - seems a nice bloke, says all the right things but lacks that spark. I always felt Gary Bowyer was a manager who could probably lose his rag and have a bit of a rant which I think players need. If Grayson got animated, I think I'd just shrug my shoulders! Maybe just me, but he just doesn't inspire me as a manager ...

He doesn't seem to be inspiring the team as well.

Hasn’t rushed to do a fans forum yet has he? Fair play to McPhillips (and even Bowyer!) who seemed all over that!

He is a very football manager pseudo techy sound bitey mumbly stuttery delivery. Much like the teams he sends out. Very dull and uninspired.

had to laugh when Tam said on the podcast that he had zoned out and stopped listening asI had done the same during the replay of the interview. He needs a Thommo not a Miller or a Dunn.

I don't see Larry as hugely arrogant. I think he tries to keep it calm but I can see that he can also bore. Stubborn, not arrogant.

I think he's possibly bored of himself. When he started I used to find him quite erudite and he sounded very engaged. Now, I'm not sure about how engaged he is.

Sometimes it's not what you say, it's how you say it.

I hope he's excited by his new squad.

I laughed at the same bit and I also experienced that jolt of realising I wasn't listening till Tam and co came back on after the clip

SG is not a particulary inspiring character and so he will need help from his coaching team in order to motivate and engage the players. I can't imagine how he would have enjoyed the success he has, without a solid technical understanding of the game, but he certainly doesn't manage to put his knowledge across when interviewed. He could do more to reassure the fans that he understands the issues on the pitch and is working to address them, because as it stands he's doing a good impression of someone who is a bit clueless.😟
