Dom Thompson

walked in to the pub after the game. Some-one said he was great. I said I thought he was poor and all their threats came down his side. Two others who'd watched the stream agreed with me,

Bowler motm.

Thompson was poor? Not sure I agree with that 20s. Bowler in contention for sure but Connolly Williams and definitely Thompson the others. Foirini faded for me.

He was fantastic for 55/60 minutes and dropped off due to cramp.
Well in the second half I didn't see it that way but of course I hope he goes on to do really well for us. As I said elsewhere, talking in the pub afterwards one mate who was at the game said he was brilliant, whereas two other mates who'd watched the game at home said he was found wanting. My view in the second half sided with the latter. it's one game though, and I won't judge a player on just one game.

Solid performance from him, I was a bit surprised when I saw him, I thought he was going to be 6ft bu5 he looks like he could of played one of the hobbits in lord of the rings.

According to wiki (not always accurate I know) he is 6 foot tall. He probably looks shorter next to our giant centre backs?

I thought Connolly Thompson and Williams all did very well yesterday. I also thought Marv was his usual self yesterday...defensively fantastic but cant pass for shit which is why he is still here and not in the prem. Thompson got forward well and has a decent throw ...he made a better debut than Gabriel did and he didnt work out too badly. With Gabriel and Thommo as wing/full backs we will be good to watch

I also thought Thompson should have gone off 10 mins before he did as he had clearly cramped up and was struggling...we need to be more pro active with the subs although it was much better yesterday than it was under Critchley

He had an excellent debut until cramp (hopefully) forced him to come off.
Looked very composed on the ball and passed well, especially up the line.
I was very impressed by all the new signings today, but glad we have Dom permanently.

Stand out moment for me was a brilliant back headed clearance from under his own cross bar in the 2nd half.
Goal saving header for me, as their forward was behind him.

Well played Dominic. 👏
Good game all round for the back four. Get Gabriel fit and we have a roving defensive back 3/5 with Connelly possibly playing slightly behind Gabriel who supports Bowler/Corbeanu.
Possibly exciting times, once we are all match fit and not picking up as many injuries as Malkin did in a week.

Amazing that he came incredibly close to being in a Premier league squad!!
Not necessarily; getting promoted with a team does not guarantee that you will be in the squad next season, I can’t see for a minute that Ollie Turton would have made it into any premiership squad

He definitely wouldn't have played much, would take more than giving up takeaways to make ollie a Premier league player, good pro that he is.

Connolly MOTM for me was on a level with a few others but the goal swung it.
