Dunn staying

Am really pleased for him. Ruled himself out early doors and so has been a good caretaker in a Steve Thompson type-way and I bet the two share a similar ethos and vision.

I've been really impressed by Dunn who has really turned around my opinion of him. Glad he's staying and I think his experience as a top level player might be important given Critchley has almost none.

That's not a critique of Critchley but someone who hasn't played probably needs someone who has and Dunn has as much kudos as anyone else we'd be likely to get in that area.

Good opportunity for Dunn to pick up a few tips as well. Working under a well-regarded coach who's been right at the top of the game should help him in his own coaching career.

I think it's a bit different with Critchley not having a backroom staff of his own.
Established Managers have a habit of bringing their mates with them.
