The fact that squires gate of all places - a training ground long considered a hell hole - now has a corporate sponsor and has managed to bring in money via naming rights is quite a turnaround ! I think it’s a smart move and it sets up the club for selling the naming rights for the new facility when it finally becomes reality. Also probably helped fund the upgrades at SG and something similar should help finance Garstang Road too.

GRW is a prime advertising spot. Therefore you'd think they could make a decent wedge from naming rights. Moreso than SG by 30 fold if not more.

It's interesting that they've never got a sponsor for the stadium, despite getting sponsors for almost everything else. I wonder if that will happen to help fund the East stand - it's something I hope they don't do but would understand it.

We nearly got there with The Pricebusters Matthews Stand. Absolute shocker and if I were Sir Stan's family I'd have asked them to take his name off it.

I'd prefer them to name it after King Billy

I wonder how much a deal like that is worth, any ball park guesses?

It's a big turnaround from what it was.

Shows also the club is looking at any and all revenue streams.

I wonder if they have considered the stadium....

Depends who's paid to spruce SG up a bit and put a sign on it

Might be a contra deal type of thing

I find it encouraging that E-Energy, a quoted plc, appear to be extending their involvement with the club.
When a company is taken over (like they bought out Utility Team), it wouldn't be unusual to look at the previous outfit's sponsorship deals and assess them as not worthwhile or in line with the new company's strategy.
But they obviously see value in continuing to support the club (possibly due to excellent work by the club's commercial dept).
👍

Could this be a sign of things to come ? Major sponsorship of the new training ground, the new east stand development or maybe even the whole stadium . I wouldn’t be against any of this, because every pound brought into the club’s coffers can only help our future development. Mr Sadler can only do so much on his own .

There's no stink attached to the club now after the last owners, so there's no kickback to sponsoring.

As for the stadium naming, I dont know if a sponsor would want to be called.... for eg.... the addidas arena @ Bloomfield Road or some name that said Bloomfield Road in it or if it didn't say it at all.

All depends, you don't really want to mess with history but if say that million pound a year lets say for stadium naming rights was the difference between going up or not, would people take it, although obviously no guarantee the extra cash would mean that.

It's interesting to think about whether it'd be worth it.

As far as I’m concerned it would be worth it, the extra money would help immensely!

I honestly wouldn't be bothered one bit if we sold naming rights to the stadium if it was a good deal. Whatever its called it would always be Bloomfield Rd to me and our fans so what does it really matter
As long as it wasn't something shit, like the SPAM stadium....😏

It's interesting to see the progress on Google maps, still old data on here and can see what it used to be, in between upgrading.

Houses incomplete, TG is bare and none of the modern portacabins yet, this was just before they arrived, the very first ones.

Pitches a mess although probably in the off season when these maps were done.

1 old crap portacabin and shipping containers? 😖😅

Dare we remember?

A real sense of pride shown by the last owners eh, embarrassing.

So you’d sell the sole of the club ? The Wonga stadium, the Pet express bowl, no thanks.some things are worth more than money

That was my first thought although I'd like to think the ground name would be one of the last to sell off and there is plenty more you could sell before then. Although I'd always call it Bloomfield Road anyway!

Have a little look at the 'employees' of e-energy......this has SS business connections written all over it.
No more local kebab shops or dodgy tele-sales companies....They are going for the big bucks national businesses....
If we still had the stains, I would hate to imagine what sort of half arsed, fly by night company, Pool would have had on their shirts.

I wonder what it's worth to a sponsor?

Without wishing to downplay the club; we're a middling second tier club (currently) - albeit the biggest away match after a team's derby.; with an attendance of between 14-15k per week - and perhaps a fanbase of 20k who will attend at least one game a season.

We're also in a pretty poor town.

So, why would you sponsor us? Perhaps, it's essentially a tax right off and gives you a chance to have a table for ten every other week for 40 weeks a year?

And lastly; how much do you specifically seek out to use the club's sponsors? I go to Notrianni's for an ice-cream - but I've been doing that since I was old enough to buy my own! Other than that, I'm not sure whether I do (and of course I live away so it may be different).

Bifster.....Sorry, I saw your happy face, I didn't mean you (unless you started a tele-sales dept?)...I forgot you were a sponsor..
It was more the fact KoKo couldn't attract sponsorship from business associates that only included shopping at Sports Direct & wearing Slazenger

I was just laughing at your comments generally…not related to myself.👍

I've often thought this too. I can understand shirt sponsors as they will travel the country and are visible every week, and even stadium sponsors as it would get called by the sponsor name officially (even if fans wouldn't call it that). It makes me wonder whether this is part of a wider sponsorship deal.
To be fair, they do get mentioned directly to 156k people (which is the number of people following BFC on twitter for anyone who doesn't use it). So maybe it's just that, I don't know.

It could be part of a wider deal with electric vehicle chargers and ways to create revenue through onsite generation like solar panels, etc.

It could benefit both parties.

156k is high I suppose.

It obviously appears worth it as we've got sponsors for everything - but I'd love to see the analytics behind it.

Have we thought of sponsoring seagulls? You get them flying above the pitch a lot, so if branded on their sides we could really benefit from it.

NO.

Thefuckingrentasuitonline.com Arena.

Just no.

I like to think we're renting out the naming rights of every other bastard thing under the sun so we can avoid degrading our stadium name, which I am more than on board with.
