England v Scotland Match Thread

Maybe I am missing something but why would Scotland be more pleased with this result than England ? We have to all intents and purposes qualified for the next round whilst Scotland need to beat Croatia to progress.
 
Awful, last minutes they did what Blackpool did a few times in that its the last kick so you can only score if you shoot or cross yet they passed it nowhere.

Absolutely dreadful from players and manager, no passion , no drive, no skill, no guile, not clinical, not inventive, little risk taken.

The tangerine army would have produced a better performance.
Not enough passion there at all.

Understandably Scotland, in the context of the game, will be much happier. Was impressed by them. Never liked Southgate - he’s a negative, boring manager - hopefully this will be his last tournament.
 
What a shower of absolute shite, if anyone thinks that team is going to win this competition, they seriously need to give their head a wobble.
What an abject, gutless performance against the third lowest ranked team in the tournament. Total bollocks
 
Pause for thought, Scotland ranked 44 in the world.

We managed to make that into a Sunday league scrap. All down to Southgate, didn’t take the initiative with his starting line up.

Because Scotland would probably count not losing to England and not qualifying as better than losing to England and qualifying…
 
England did what they needed to do. Not sure what all the reaction is about. Some real drama queens on here.
 
well we could go out if we play like that against the Czech....and because we have a negative manager and a so called captain who in both games has been nowhere near the level he should be if we are to believe the hyphe.
 
The good news is, I didn't pay to stand in the rain and watch that crap. I'm sorry but Scotland showed more guts and wanting to win than hapless England
 
Absolute garbage, when you look at the quality players available and playing not to lose the game is ** ridiculous. The two fullbacks whose game is built on bombing forward , barely crossed the halfway line. Southgates tactics are stifling the skills of some of the best young talent in Europe.
 
That was like watching us in the games against Shrewsbury and Accrington after beating Peterborough and Hull. I I thought in the Croatia game that Southgate was nicking Critch's tactics when we defended free kicks with a high line, but to struggle against a poor defensive side felt like deja vu.
 
The penny drops. It's a tactical master plan to finish second in the group and miss playing the second team from the group of death.
 
To slow and to many sideways passing ,looks like southgate set us up to get a point ,we have no chance of winning anything with the way he sets his teams up to play ,got some really good players but they look to scared to leave their positions looks like he has said just to players make sure we dont lose
 
Got up this morning, didn’t even know England were playing, watched the second half, first time in 14 years I’ve watched England, it’ll be at least another 14 before I do again. As the sweaties would say a load of pisssh

I got up at 4:30 a.m. to watch an embarrassing, pathetic, inept, peahearted performance. That last 60 seconds till FT put it all in a nutshell.
 
Pedestrian performance but we didn't lose. Better result for us than the Jocks.

The bottom line it's the curse of ITV.

No plaudits from me 20’s, the guy is one dimensional. Safe, steady, but tactically short. Repeat of the last World Cup, where we stumbled our way to the semi-final.

It wouldn’t surprise me if we saw Henderson next game. That would just underline what Southgate is all about.
