Estimated 100,000 Rangers fans

wow, that's one helluva following. Hope that all fans have a great time and it all passes off peacefully.

Wasn't there a 100k in Blackpool when they were last in the UEFA Cup Final? Or it seemed like it.

I got a Manchester train from Poulton at about 7:30am and it was lively (but good natured) even at that time. 😄

Thousands queued up at Blackpool North, took a pal of mine 4 hrs to get to Manchester.

Not long arrived at Euston. Train packed with singing Rangers supporters. Always interesting that supporters sing the same songs but obviously adapted to their own club. Supporters I chatted with were heading to Gatwick to fly to Madrid. For me, gone are the days!

It's forecasted 36c wall to wall sunshine in Seville for tomorrow, I hope the local bars have ordered plenty of cerveza, that lot will drink the place dry. 😂
Think Seville is the hottest place I've ever experienced in Europe. Remember it felt like burning balls of cotton wool hitting my cheeks when walking down the street. Kept diving in shop doorways to cool down in the aircon.

Not sure the Scottish players will be used to playing in that heat. As for the fans, if they subject their blanched white skin to that sun all day, they'll need to invent a new description over and above the word lobster!

When it's hot there it's hot, no breeze. We had to dive into an electrical store behind the Cathedral to seek air con. We spend about 15 mins under the ac unit whilst admiring an Indesit Logic TURBO that had 1600 spin, a 12kg drum and auto-sensing dryer combined. Lovely. Sales guy came over twice, first time fobbed him off, second he was there to get rid of us- I had to tell him it wouldn't fit in the hand luggage anyway.

Nice piece of kit is the Logic Turbo.

Appearently the Sevilla authorities have set up a big screen in the third Sevilla stadium (La Cartuja) which holds 57,000. Rangers fans without tickets will be directed there. Sounds like a plan, we will see if it works.

Brilliant idea that. Get the concessions stands open and they will make a killing.

Large numbers of fans heading to European finals without tickets is inevitable with large clubs. Every host city should make advance efforts for fan parks, stages, and big screen events.

I think if they try the same nonsense in Seville, they'll find the Guardi Civil a damned sight more robust than the GMP plod at dealing with hooliganism and disorder.
They usually are, but they were reasonable enough in Madrid a few years ago. The ones deployed to the grounds are full on stormtroopers, the ones policing the fan parks were a bit more normal.

Ex Rangers players posting videos on social media pleading for supporters to behave themselves😂 I think it’s going to go Pete Tongue!
When you see fans abroad it really makes you wish we could experience a European adventure just once. If we played in SPL I expect we would be in Europe most seasons, one of the be benefits of playing in a poor league.

Due in Seville in 3 weeks, hope there is some beer left.

Oh and another vote for Bosch.
Bosch…wife swears by our washing machine and tumbler drier…a vote of confidence by the way.
As for Seville we were there( day excursion from our cruise docked in Cadiz) literally a few days before you know what closed down the world…so mid February 2020….what an amazing place and we only had a few hours there…but as we were told come summer it is well EFFING HOT and I would imagine it is likely to be tomorrow night.
Looking forward to watching this a lot more than the Scousers V the Francos.

I walked through what was left of Manchester the morning after ... sorry but the word animals springs to mind

I was lucky my ex had to walk through Manchester the night of the game - some of the abuse and stuff she got was vile!

36 degrees forecast in Seville today. Imagine being in that heat after consuming the alcohol that loads will today, I can see possible serious problems there this evening and a very busy 24 hours for the medics and police

It reminds me of the time I went to watch Celtic at Old Trafford. 1985-86 ISH, it was my first experience of a big European game, second leg of the old knockout comps. Celtic had already gone through but someone had thrown a bottle at Parkhead, opposition whoever they were claimed their player had been hit and it affected the result. UEFA agreed and the second leg had to be replayed, as a punishment they were made to do it at least 100 miles out of Glasgow.

Punishment? Hmm. So nearly 60k of them went to Manchester. I went with a bloke from work who'd been all over the place with them in the day, had his photo with the European Cup coming back from Lisbon etc.

Must have been 10k of them in Piccadilly Square, having a sing. I saw groups of 10-15 that pissed that all they could do was stagger along holding onto each other, following the one declared leader. Made quite an impression on an 18-19 year old!

Like John said as another human chain lurched past, the strange bit is they'll all make it to the ground somehow. A kind of homing instinct kicks in.

I imagine the Rangers game will be a modernised version of the same tale.

I was there that night, one of the coldest nights watching football I've ever experienced,Pissed up Celtic fans everywhere. It was season 1984/85

To think that the game is being played at only the third biggest stadium in Seville itself makes you question the stupidity of it being played at Sevilles ground.

My wife swears AT ours...

Darks, lights and tangerine. The three washes per week.

If there was such a thing as betting on the likelihood of an outbreak of chaos and hooliganism in the coming days I would plunge in on a double. Rangers tonight and Leeds on Sunday. Wouldn't make much profit though as both outcomes would be well odds on.

I went that night and was working in Manchester. Our female staff were sent home by lunchtime. There were pissed Celtic fans scrapping with each other in the seats above one of the ends.

Correct pal with the amount of cameras in the city center they can only ever show one incident where rangers fans were fighting with the police.
Let me get this right, you are saying that Rangers fans didn’t trash Manchester City Centre? That effectively, this was fake news? See above for my comment on Celtic fans, I have no agenda here.

When you have that many people in one area there is bound to be a bit of mess

It certainly wasn't trashed as i was working in Manchester the day after
