European Commission snubs 300m doses of AZ and J&J vaccine

Oxford/AZ vaccine latest: https://www.politico.eu/article/germany-allows-oxford-astrazeneca-coronavirus-vaccine-to-all-adults/

Germany Thursday opened up the use of the Oxford/AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine for everyone over the age of 18 in order to speed up immunization efforts, Health Minister Jens Spahn announced.

🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

I think what's happened here is that AZ have now got their EU production up to full speed (and there soon may be a large supply available from the US), thus they're worked out that not using a safe and proven vaccine that's available in large quantities whilst waiting for whatever rubbish comes out of Russia/China is a bit thick.

Interesting that they haven't even bothered with the under 30s restriction we've imposed.

Absolute f***ing clown show.
Or you could argue that it’s a fluid situation regarding issues around the various vaccines and hence decisions change.

Now they're panicking because the German vaccine has been proved to be only 47% effective and Von der Liar is saying the result was a good one for the EU. perhaps the EU should be renamed Cloud Cuckoo Land. They had also asked for AZ to be fined 8 Euros per vaccine per day for non-delivery which the court fixed at 8 Euros per vaccine. NB the vaccine is being delivered at cost price.

The judges rightly ruled that the EU has no exclusive right or priority over any jabs manufactured by AZ. The judgment was predictable from the start. The EC continues to blunder from one disaster to another. It's like watching the Keystone Cops chasing around but getting nowhere. Humorously incompetent. Best of all, Von der Lederhosen thinks the judgment was a victory for the EC.

They’ve got a bloody nerve. And they were getting them at cost price. Pleased the court could see through their pathetic efforts against AZ. Everyone knew they signed up to a shitty best endeavours contract. AZ should sue them for reputational damage.

I don’t think the Europeans are panicking at all.

You’re a bit sad aren’t you! I can’t believe somebody is so anti EU. Interestingly, the Europeans see it differently. Carry on reading the Telegraph.

Not really, I just wanted to remind you that having insulted me previously I was right and you were completely and utterly wrong.

You call her Von der Liar but I've never heard you utter any such phrase or condemnation of the multiple, proven Liar running our country.

And what's more the only source we have that she's a liar , is our lying politicians and their supporters in the press
European cases of covid are dropping whilst ours are rising. The frothers on here conveniently ignore that fact, whilst clutching at straws to bash the EU.

We were discussing this over breakfast this morning. Maybe it’s a lockdown consequence but I’ve not yet felt any benefit or negatives to Brexit?
Admittedly, I’ve not tried to venture abroad yet - I’ve read all the comments from both sides of she said, he said - yet for me it’s had zero impact.

I have completed a contract with a Germany based German company and that was for services not goods but seemed easy enough. I’ve not experienced shortages in things I wanted to buy and not had poor service in a pub or restaurant.
Equally I’ve not seen jobs for all and an endless bounty of cash in the countries pockets not Europe’s.

I am sure someone is experiencing a difference in their lives due to Brexit, but currently not anyone I know closely?

No, you're absolutely right. The average person has seen no difference in his or her everyday life. Not even the bare supermarket shelves widely predicted last year. I've ordered loads of stuff from abroad on cost, duty and delivery paid terms. All good.

Having one of our friends dying of a blood clot on the brain, a week after her AZ vaccination, leaving a 6 year old behind, and as has been reported on mainstream news her death being referred for a coroners investigation on the basis of the link to AZ vaccination, some of the comments here seemed to he based on some type of vacine nationalism, rather than its safety.

Yep if it was that safe why are they not giving it to the young 'uns.
