Evatt already not going down well with the Trotters

Most fans on Bolton websites have been keen on Evatt compared with other potential candidates. For those don't, who do they expect - Guardiola?
 
Had my mate who is a Trotter on the phone last night bemoaning the appointment, saying it was unambitious and even said 'I know you would have settled for him but we're a bigger club than you are' 🤣🤣🤣🤣
 
That job is too big for him right now.
30 odd good games as a manager in the National League doesn’t qualify him for such a big step up.
If the season had been properly completed, Barrow may not even have gone up.

He was at Barrow for two seasons. They've replaced their squad, same as us. They have ridiculous fans. Like us.
 
I'm with Voyer, you need time to build and get players used to playing in a certain way.
As Evo said.....some of the players are just not good enough......with Barrow he had no expectations or an army of ex-football managers as fans.
he turned them into a very good footballing team.

I wonder how he would have got on if he had come here as some wanted......?
Then again we could get Pep Guardiola as manager......and you would still get 'the usual subjects' having a pop....
 
Some of what their fans are saying on twitter is identical to what some of ours are saying. That they appreciate the brand of football, but the players aren't good enough and it doesn't suit that division. And he needs to change that system before it's too late.

Quite an obvious observation to make but I said from the start that it's a poisoned chalice for Evo taking that job.

Results speak for themselves and at the moment things are going very pear shaped for Evo to say the least. And the result against Oldham must have been the lowest of the low for him.

The irony in all this is that if he does get potted by Bolton then a lot of posters on here will be saying he needs time yet the same posters think NC should be potted. And the same posters would welcome Evatt with open arms as manager even if his record at Bolton proves to be abysmal. Such is the fickleness of football supporters.

He was a great player for us but being even a good manager does not necessarily follow as history has shown time and time again.

As they say, football is a funny old game and Evo may return to Barrow tonight and stuff them.
Whatever happens I wish Evo all the best.
 
Evo like NC needs time at least 10-12 games minimum. Season only just started.

Fist pumping and yelling on the touchline isnt enough.

My opinion only but Evo would benefit from a Gary Bowyer type of person to assist him as Director of Football whilst he is learning his trade.
 
Yeah but Evatt is saying it’s not good enough while our lot are being told we have done well and things just need to click. It remains to be seen which approach is correct.

Not a terrible result that really. Evatt really went for their keeper today and team last week.

He's basically the opposite of Critch but getting same outcomes.
