Evatt: 'It's my duty to make the players better'

Fantastic interview. Clear, concise, informed, devoid of waffle. And yet how passionate and determined. I really hope we all get fully behind him and the lads on Saturday, win or lose, because as he says, this is a long process of improvement, and we're only in week two.

Enjoyed that.

I’m trying to start being more bothered about what our Managers do and not what they sat but I can’t help but get excited at the detail and meat on the bone Evatt gives as well as the way he communicates. I would like to think the players will buzz off it too.

Every time he says he feels like this role was just meant for him and he was destined to be the Manager it’s pure poetry.

The next few months will show us all if he can walk it like he talks it but I don’t see us not becoming better under him.

When we do get better, it’s going to be some trip with him leading us.

He can’t do any worse that’s for sure !

If it doesn’t work out for Evatt then at least hes got a back up career as either a teacher or motivational speaker. Talks a good game, the players are responding positively and we have a couple of wins under the belt. It’s all starting to look positive (until we get smashed by Cardiff and Evatt can do one 😜)

One things for sure.

Evatt is beginning to reform the team and club...step by step.

Another good interview, his knowledge, football style, communication, being inspirational and showing he can be successful before with it is the reason I was so keen to get him as manager. You build up a picture in your mind, add in being a club hero and the fact hes desperate to help rebuild the club, fanbase and bring successful times back.

It was just the only choice for me.

Couple of standout points I took away. Firstly that many of the players had not experienced data driven management and the 'classroom' approach that you see in Elite sport (inc football and especially US sports).

Secondly, Ian has clearly studied NLP. He talks about visual and feeling based learning. I was expecting him to say "kinetic" at one point and he seemed to start and then hold back.

I'm also wondering what happened last time he interviewed here and why the club felt he was wrong then and right now?

Not sure why but ironically it's the Evatt at Barrow videos that helped inspire many on his methods, so from that time.

He's only learnt more since then, learnt what went right and wrong and what to adjust. He says himself he's far more ready now in hindsight and has probably developed as a person too.

Would have been good back then but tbh he's better now.

I really hope he can get the backing he will need for us to play the way he wants, the current squad lacks energy, and it sounds like the style he wants is full on energy so I expect a few outs and in’s
Every interview he has given is so refreshing, no waffle.

His new turkey teeth will save us from turning on the west stand floodlights.

Appreciate it's baby seps and it's going to take a long time but how long is that?
Right off this season and then hit the ground running?

Gutted I can’t be there Saturday, hoping my mates party gets called off and I can go last min 🤣

That’s a joke but would love to be there for his proper home coming return.
