Really hoping the Toffees stuff their neighbours today - would love to see Klopp's fixed grin look like a smacked arse!
Was it dangerous play? If it wasn't then no reason to card him surely? I don't know cos I can't see it, so I'm asking a genuine question!Pickford a very lucky boy. Irrespective of whether VVD was a toe-nail offside, he should have got a red card.
Yep, I thought so. And the surprise id that Peter Walton has just disagreed with the VAR ref and said it should have been a red card. As pointed out a tackle like that anywhere else on the pitch and not by a goalkeeper in the area and it was a pretty obvious red.
Nothing to do with who it is happening to.VAR turns on Liverpool oh well.
VAR turns on Liverpool oh well.
Yes I agree it is ruining the game, and I don't like it what I was getting at was the amount of times Liverpool had decisions go for them in the past. The PL need to have a rethink.Nothing to do with who it is happening to.
It's football as a whole that it is ruining.
Please can we go back to the time when the Referee made all the decisions. What a joke VAR is.
It just bores me that goals are struck off over millimetres now.
Or a flapping shirt in the windPlease can we go back to the time when the Referee made all the decisions.
The rule should be that if there is space between the attacker & defender, it's offside.
Or at least half a body, not a bloody toe cap.
I'll try again.Yes I agree it is ruining the game, and I don't like it what I was getting at was the amount of times Liverpool had decisions go for them in the past. The PL need to have a rethink.
Apparently an offside decision means you can commit grievous bodily harm with impunityJust seen the replay - Peter Walton strikes again. Ridiculous decision not to send off Pickford.
Walton said Pickford was a red card at half time..Just seen the replay - Peter Walton strikes again. Ridiculous decision not to send off Pickford.
Why don't they do the same as Rugby where the referee on the pitch has ultimate responsibility and the video referee discusses live on air their rationale of thinking? It's worked brilliantly in Rugby and over the hundreds of games I've seen, which has far more complicated rulings, does it go wrong. So why is football using VAR so badly?I like VAR but it's not being used right. On many levels. Changes need to be made. The problem is that the game is now all about the referees.
Valid point, but as a game I think Rugby is more stop/start than football. Why don't they do the same as Rugby where the referee on the pitch has ultimate responsibility and the video referee discusses live on air their rationale of thinking? Fair play to him then - Michael Oliver got it badly wrong. It was even more blatant than when we got shafted by Walton v Man Utd.Walton said Pickford was a red card at half time..
That’s been the problem since the Premier League started, and this version of VAR is completely undermining the game. People will start turning away from football if it carries on disrupting the end result in games. The problem is that the game is now all about the referees.
Is there any going back? I'm not so sure. Only by modification either of the rules or the refs. That’s been the problem since the Premier League started, and this version of VAR is completely undermining the game. I would use it for goal line decisions only.
Or more correctly Blackpool v Walton.Fair play to him then - Michael Oliver got it badly wrong. It was even more blatant than when we got shafted by Walton v Man Utd.

The interpretation of the offside rules is what's wrong. If they went back to daylight between the defender and the attacker then there would be no issue. They can still draw the lines but on the other side of the last defender and attacker.I like VAR but it's not being used right. On many levels. Changes need to be made. The problem is that the game is now all about the referees.
