Everyone a bit happier tonight?

I don’t get why people are happy,.. It’s just yet another ridiculous decision to add to the rest.

I mean what’s it supposed to achieve?

If Critchley is not the man, then how does bringing in Calderwood remedy that situation... It’s neither one thing or the other...

If we’re not careful we’re going to become a laughing stock! The pundits were already scoffing behind their hand at the ridiculousness of our player recruitment.

It needs a steady competent pair of hands in the boardroom to settle all this silliness down, garner a sense of calm, patience and confidence.

Sadly I think you are probably right. I think we might have to become that before things start to change ad we get people in the boardroom who know what they are doing football wise. They will be able to make the infrastructure brilliant, there's no doubt about that, it's bread and butter for them, but getting the football side right is going to be a whole different ball game (pun intended).

I agree with this whole heartedly, he brought in his man, Garrity. In professional life you have to be judged on your performances.

For me this is getting the caretaker in early doors.

As last time BM was hopelessly scrambling around in the management search. It was a shambles.

This looks like a move to cover his arse from the Critchley appointment and to maybe plan some what for the reminder of the season as he’s one more bad appointment away from the chop.

Crikey this board is the internet equivalent of the tv series X files........ that was based on loads of fantastic conspiracy theories as well 😳 Why not let Simon Sadler get on with what he’s trying to achieve without all the sniping and criticism, I really hope Colin Calderwood doesn’t log in on here 🙄

Massive learning curve for SS as he admitted himself! There’s gonna be fuck ups along the way obviously, but one or two posters on here who think they’re ‘it’ think they know better, great entertainment mind, and gives me a chuckle. ☺️

Great appointment! Calderwood brings a lot of experience to the table and this is exactly what we have been missing.

We’ve no choice, but to let Sadler get on with it... He bought the Club and that’s his prerogative.

Calderwood isn’t really the issue here either Mosser, it’s the nonsense that sits behind the whole farce that now sees us bringing him in.

Maybe we should bring in an experienced assistant CEO / aspiring DOF and an experienced assistant owner to go with our experienced assistant ‘Head Coach’.... Or how about just appointing people who can actually do the job they are paid to do in the first place.

You mean like..... people with experience? 🙈😂

Many of the opinions above are plausible, I really haven't got a clue whether Sadler has trusted the wrong people to run his/our club. Time will tell & if his reactions are similar these people will be removed PDQ. What I've seen so far, we should have enough quality to come good this season but it needs better organisation for THIS league, I hope Calderwood can add that aspect. Where that leaves NC I'm not really sure.

Whatever you might think of Bolingbroke and Hatton based on my dealings with them they were pretty twitched on re being Blackpool centric
I remain to be convinced that the current incumbents get the importance of that in the same way
Early days still that said
UTMP

Yup, you would know too. I was disappointed when they left, they certainly had the right credentials.

Can’t comment really about the on-field stuff stuff as I deliberately didn’t get involved however interesting the first day Bolingbroke walked in the first thing he wanted to know was how all the dynamics worked viz a vie the club / fans That for him came above everything else

Also ( and this happened more than once ) if we had a quote from a local company that was more than one from out of town then the brief was to go back to the local company and get them to re-tender to keep the spend in Blackpool

That’s the way to do things off the pitch particularly in these extremely challenging times

I think on the pitch more communication with the fans as to the long term strategy would be helpful but appreciate their are issues there with Covid etc

Sweepstake on the next open letter to the fans? If we lose again this weekend I think it’s incoming.

What makes you think they’re not doing the job that they are paid to do? I’m more than happy with what the owner has achieved and the CEO (from what I have been told by someone who has worked closely with him since he arrived) is the hardest working person at the club. The one thing that I believe is hampering the progress that he is trying to achieve, is the time he’s still having to take out of his working day/week to deal with off field problems left by the scum who used to own our club.

You can track the start of the poor results back to the change in BD Room.... Something went wrong...

Most likely to do with the recruitment policy if you ask me, which is a shambles...

We reacted with Grayson, we fannied around with the replacement, we’ve signed and fucked off far too many players...I mean is it any wonder the Team is struggling really... there’s no real continuity

It’s all ** flashing lights and fancy seats... Zero substance, zero credibility, zero experience...

Hopefully they’ll all learn on the Job sooner rather than later or get lucky... cos fuck knows it won’t be by design!!

Absolutely spot on BFC x 3 👍🏻

Sorry but you are making excuses... CEO’s have to deal with these types of things all the time... They shouldn’t prevent you from getting the basics right.

What’s hampering our progress is the fact that we’re green as grass from top to bottom and we don’t really have anyone at the club, who’s really got the best interest of the club at heart with any real experience or robust football knowledge.

It’s suits over substance and theory over practicality.....

As someone else said it’s a real shame JA isn’t around.... We could really do with him in an advisory capacity to help SS our.

Bringing in an experienced coach and former manager appears to be a good decision. Calderwood will probably offer a little more steel to the coaching methods and also be a bit more pragmatic than Critchley. The only concern is if NC didn't ask or want Calderwood, if it undermines his position it could have a negative impact in the short term. Ultimately I don't really care if NC has his nose out of joint, results and performances have been awful, he can count himself fortunate he hasn't been replaced. If CC makes him double his efforts and be a bit braver with how he sets up his team it can only give us a better chance of turning things around.

The new era has been treated like a sandpit where we have all afternoon in the sun to mess about and try things out with our shiny new plastic tools. It’s amazing how quickly the afternoons can turn into night and when you look at what you’ve achieved, it’s often nothing at all.
