Ex Seasiders now Cods

You know many? Only asking as I have seen a tweet from a lad I know that was a Seasider, absolutely slating us. This prompted me to go on his twitter account to investigate and he proper hates us - even celebrating Gillingham's last minute winner! Just bizarre!

Well there’s a guy I know who posts on here he doesn’t go to Pool games and can’t stop talking about the Cod’s so does he count?

Was never a proper Seasider then.

Baffles me how people can 'change' clubs, i feel sorry for them.

They can't have been a seasider and i can't get my head around how anyone could do that, regardless of all the troubles we've been through and the NAPM days and no football team to support on saturdays Blackpool's in my blood and always will be it's the mighty pool or nobody simple as that.

I don't understand how anyone can change their support. I started supporting BFC (thanks to my now deceased brother) 55+ years ago, whilst living 60 miles away and while all my mates supported the usual 'glory' teams. I would have to have my tangerine blood changed to even make me think about supporting another team - even during our dark times. My two daughters (late 30's) and wife feel the same way and we still live 60 miles away!

Can understand someone following a Prem side or a Scottish club for an example but switch to a lower league side no thanks.

Do know a couple of blokes who have ST for Pool and the Cods.😲

Mastertech on the old AVFTT was a really bitter ex Pool fan now supporting the Cods..
Slagged the Pool off all the time.
Correct 20's even had the cheek to moan about the east away end after only paying 19 quid.
I've paid 24 for that shit hole away at the Cods

Correct. Stood up in a 440 capacity terrace that only goes across half the end. The other half is a tarmaced footpath with no camber and a portaloo. Appalling facility.

Can't have been a proper fan. I couldn't imagining supporting anyone other than Blackpool. I lived in Fleetwood for five years and during the NAPM campaign I went a to a few Fleetwood games as a neutral just to watch some live football, but had to stop as they spent most of the game singing about us and how much they hate us. My thoughts were that I couldn't fund a club whos fans harboured such ill feeling towards us. You never swap teams ever. If you do you are not a proper supporter.

Post of the year STE. Well played

I can't even understand that. Two team wankers. Why support say Blackpool and Man U? How can you support both clubs fully? Tbh Blackpool are more than enough for me and my ticker haha

I know a guy who has actually got Season Tickets for both BFC and the Cods.
How the hell does that work out?
Really nice guy and I get on well with him, but still don't understand it.
Must ask him if, when both are at home on the same day, which does he go to watch.
Interesting. 😯

Many, many years ago people would watch pool at home one Saturday and the nobbers the next, could never do that.

I was reading about football in the 50s the other day and it was on about how it was perfectly normal for people to watch Liverpool one week and Everton the next!

Also about how when Liverpool got relegated, Everton's crowds went up cos reds went to Goodison to watch div 1.

The thing with Shed he was supporting the Cods 'AND' the pool when they were non-league a bit like DONK who follows AFC or some who that I know go and watch Fylde when we are playing away.
Now they are a league side makes it a bit weird but he goes I presume mainly to watch us.

Bollocks to them. Their bubble will burst in a few years and they’ll sink back to their natural non league level
People said that about Barton on the other site when he arrived, won’t last till Christmas, won’t last till the end of the season, goodbye Fleetwood as Barton will take them down.

They clearly know absolute zero when it comes to football knowledge.

I've never been to a Fleetwood game in which the Pool were not the opponents. When I was a student in Birmingham 1979-1982 I took myself off to a few games, they were entertaining but I had no connection and therefore no euphoria or all the other emotions you feel when it's your club. One match stands out in my memory....Wolves v Chelsea a midweek night game. Hearing the Wolves theme tune for the first time and all their fans chanting along to it was very impressive to a young Blackpool lad...the song being The Liquidator. It was a nervy experience travelling on my own to and from the game given the times and potential for fisty cuffs. Also bagged tickets for the second FA cup replay at Highfield Rd between Arsenal and Liverpool....it surprised me how much respect there was between the two sets of fans at the station after the game with Liverpool fans wishing Arsenal fans good luck in the final. All character building stuff but given the times when hooliganism was at its height I look back now and think I must have been mad putting myself in some of the situations I did.
