Individual errors, lack on concentration and poor game management.

Not having any of this nonsense that critchley is too defensive, I cannot think of a more attack minded line up/performance we have had on recent years, could have had 6 or 7.

Yes dembelle has to be starting and probably lavery. Wrong starting line up.

Yes he took two attacking players off when winning 3-2 with 10 mins left, but we were playing about 6 players up front. Would be silly to keep it like that, he waited to 80 mins to see if we could get a 4th. I think he got the balance right. Every single manager in the world would have done that.

More of a problem is coaching, setting up a team to defend a lead, seeing out the game etc. They needed to slow the game down. Be more solid, time waste etc.
 
Criminal starting 11, that's on Critchley. I don't care to see Oakley-Boothe in a Blackpool shirt again. 2pts thrown away, it was obvious who their threat was and we just allow him to shoot. As for Grimshaw, at fault for the 2nd and needs to start actually making a save or 2. Dembele on the bench is quite frankly a joke.

Marriott was a threat but goal was hardly a worldy as described by Lancs commentator.
 
We are masters of our own downfall. Whether that be from tactics, lineups, individual errors or weird drop in intensity when we are all over them. We seems to put in a sensational 30 mins every game and then look clueless for the rest. It's very very odd and frustrating.
 
could have understood a defensive bent for the last 15 minutes with connolly on his natural side. and maybe CJ switching left. or even going to flat back four with sir james as a regular left back and connolly as a regular right back.

maybe playing a proper 5 at the back even and hitting on the break. with the pace of lavery, CJ, dembele and Carey

we seem very rigid tactically but have players who seemingly can really mix it up
 
100% agree that there’s nothing at all wrong with the subs late in the game there. Also agree that we have to be able to do that and see games out professionally.. spoil, shithouse and retain possession.

That is the time to be going backwards and sideways and not attempting the daft and risky balls.

First half had already fucked us though…

Bottled it near the end and tinkered again and it failed.

I actually think it's not a master plan to be able rotate the whole squad at any time. I think it's because he's too weak of character to upset players.

Of course they won’t but Radio Lancs should. Instead of saying “that was a great game for the neutral Neil?” Or “Wow what a game that was” they should get him to justify his team selection and ask him why he keeps getting it wrong. I have a feeling Radio Lancs getting access to the preseason Ireland trip has stopped them asking tough questions
