Fan base full of spoilt brats

The sense of entitlement post boycott has actually been so embarrassing. People have wanted Grayson to fail right from the start and some actually seem glad that things are starting to deteriorate. The amount of negativity and toxicity you’d think the Oystons were still in charge? People spent 5 years complaining and harbouring negative emotions in relation to the club and I’m pretty convinced many haven’t got out of the habit. Just because we have gone through hell for years doesn’t mean we deserve instant success. Sacking Grayson will just take us back to square 1

How will appointing a better manager and not a clueless dinosaur take us back to square one?

it was a safe appointment and it’s Sadler’s first mistake as owner.

So what you saying then? We keep him? Just watch season tickets plummet if he’s still got the nerve to be here next season.

I've defended Grayson, the club and the players recently due to the unique scenario we've found ourselves in the last 12 months.

Its becoming harder and harder to defend these performances and results. It's hard to see him starting next season at this rate. I'd go as far as to say loose the next two and he won't see the month out and his managerial career would practicaly be over.

Nobber WUM alert! 🤡

I never expected instant success and I don’t think most others did either. However I don’t think it’s spoilt brat behaviour to expect better than what’s been served up tonight. thousands of people have paid there hard earned money, freezing their tits off to watch that dross tonight, they’re entitled to an opinion however negative it is

This is why we have one of the worst fan bases in the country. As soon as things aren’t going their way they throw their toys out of the the pram and start crying. They can’t moan about oyston now so they have to moan about Grayson, absolutely pathetic!

You may be right in a sense of people having been used to being negative but let's be fair SG was not berated by fans until over 6 months in and then this terrible run after very little signs of improvement and actually going backwards.

People have given him some time but it's been pretty poor.

That said when the chants happened he looked over and I felt a bit bad for him.

First half a few sung SG tangerine army (maybe just supporting the team though) and second half it was Grayson out. 😄

I sang neither.

Could be wrong, but imo think we’d put up with the poor football if we were grinding out points and keeping in touch with the play offs thus hoping for a late push with the recent signings. It’s getting rather frustrating though.

They start chanting Grayson out after gillinghams second goal and then shut up after our second, they need to make their minds up. Absolute joke!
I kind of agree ! First half it’s all SG tangerine army , then it’s Grayson out as soon as we concede - fickle as fk - then it’s shouting Ian Evatt chants , manages Barrow and no experience - granted he is doing well in non league but really ?? Is that the ambition ? I agree the form is bad , and I would question if SG is right for the job , but I don’t think singing “ we are fking sh!t “ is gonna help the lads too much

I don't agree that anyone would want things to deteriorate but there were a few last night who didn't cheer our equaliser but were delighted by their winner because it was another nail in the manager's coffin. I'll compare Simon Grayson to Theresa May - appointed to deal with all the crap but there's only so far either were going to go until a proper plan had been put in place. The club is now on a firm footing and so let's get someone in who everyone can unite around (which Grayson was never able to achieve).

Donk 👍🏻We drifted for far too long with the same line up and formation, fonz needed to come on 10 minutes into the second half, he did it against Southend so why not last night, everyone could see it wasn’t working.
That said I’ve been in the SG corner as I don’t like the itchy trigger finger mentality but found myself getting really annoyed last night.
anyway I was in the queue at 8 this morning for CODS tickets so onwards and upwards #UTP

There's loads saying 'I never wanted him in the first place' and glad were losing as it justifies their position. There's a thread wishing we'd lost to Southend.

The last minute goal has coloured opinion. If we'd got a point last night it was the least we deserved. We should have had the game dead and buried with an hour gone. The fact we didn't isn't just down to the manager or the tactics. Poor decision making and rank bad finishing and defending were the reasons we lost.

oh Wizaard - sitting further and further back allowing Gillingham to slowly get back in the game, that is the players playing to a system Grayson instructs them to play.

for the record I’m one out of the three in your first paragraph

Poor decision making

You've got to include Larry in the poor decision making. Even at 1-0 up, the game was screaming for Madine to be taken off, it didn't happen until we were 2-1 down. We were 2-0 down at Wycombe for ages and yet persisted with a negative approach.
The goals we're conceding this season are largely down to non-league quality defending and it's happening game after game after game.
Getting beaten is all well and good, it's part and parcel of the game, but the manner in which we capitulate and disappear from long periods of games while Larry is stood on the sidelines looking like a disinterested steward is unacceptable.

I do understand the criticism of Grayson. Accrington at home on Boxing Day was the first time I began to question whether he was the right man for the job. People are entitled to their opinion. My main grudge is that it’s as though people are throwing their toys out of the pram because they haven’t got their way. As soon as Grayson was appointed people were already filling this board and social media with negativity and I don’t really understand why. It’s not just been with Grayson either. Take Nuttall for example, the lad had 3 poor games and was completely written off and scapegoated by many, with people applauding when he was substituted. I don’t remember that being the kind of fan base we had before the boycott? Getting on a young lads back at the first opportunity? Just seems as though the animosity and toxicity that has (justifiably) been around for the last 5 years hasn’t gone away, and it will only bring the club down when we have a fantastic owner who is doing everything he can to take us forward.
