Yesterday I had a lovely chat with Mark Lewis a lifelong Wimbledon fan who has been following them for 42 years. We talked about what it has been like following following Wimbledon and the devastation of losing his club and the journey back to the Football League in just 9 years as well as looking forward at tomorrows game

Hope you guys enjoy it, it Premieres at 5PM but will still be available to watch after 5PM

Lee, that was a fascinating insight. I have total respect for Mark and their fans. There was a moment when I was watching that, I almost wanted them to win tomorrow....thankfully it was only a moment. Come on you Pool. 😎

Yes I kind of had that moment too. We can think of our struggle but what they went through? and to fight their way all the way back into the Football League in 9 years? and now to be back in a new ground 300yds from the Old Plough Lane it really is one heck of a story.

No time for AFC fans at all unfortunately.
there is a big difference between bad owners and bad fans or non fans as the case may be!!
peter winkleman the MK owner is a fantastic chairman, saw an opportunity and took it, if local people had actually gone to watch Wimbledon then it would never have happened, it’s a bit late after the event, remember this is the club that were regularly getting less than 2000 home fans even in the top flight and only taking a couple of dozen away ☹️

Great post. It was infuriating when the PL started because they spent everything on players and wages, rather than take the opportunity to invest in a new, local stadium. They spent years at Selhurst Park before they couldn't defy gravity anymore and went into meltdown.

Blaming Winkleman is faux outrage in my view who's simply a scapegoat for their misgivings and poor governance at their club.

Priceless, from a bloke who thinks Carlisle is a long away trip.

They have got back to the borough of Merton, and it will be interesting to see what gates they can attract when normal life resumes.

But they have got there by leaving Kingstonian (another long standing semi-pro team in SW London) in exactly the same position as they were, once having had a home and now having to ground share elsewhere. And as a result of the development Wimbledon has also lost its greyhound track, one of the last ones left in London.

So it’s by no means a fairy tale story.
