Fans back in stadiums

I think people must realise that the return of fans will probably cost the Club money with all the additional costs of stewarding.

I bet it doesn't save us though when it comes to handing out the tier status.
To be honest though, here on Wirral you wouldn't know there was the problem the way people wander round all over the pavement and in the shops. I really still don't think people get it. That, or they don't give a shite. 😗
Not sure GT whether they will use the 'R' value or infections per 100k people as the measurement criteria, they’ve used the latter in the past and if thats the case then the NW is the new Tier 3

It's a good question TT but I'd guess each Tier 1 club will only sell tickets to ST holders and then only to those with a registered address in the area to reduce the risk
Seems to be the obvious common sense route..............but then, are you a politician? At the moment South Staffs is in the medium group.

Good news for some, but alas not us. Not yet anyway, but I'm more confident that we will see fans back this season, possibly mid-late Feb if lucky.

Need to get the Jan lockdown out of the way and look then I reckon.

Don't see anything but Tier 3 until then, apart from Christmas.

Still think they need to address the non vaccy's before too much can change though.

I don’t think there is a January lockdown. The tier restrictions are in place till March now and you either go up or down tiers after Dec 2nd.
Agree about tier 3 for us.

Remember when Blackpool was set at a lower rate than the rest of Lancs a weeks back. Caused a bit of stir and didn’t last long

Has the Christmas stuff been announced? Relaxation then will lead to tighter stuff in Jan, perhaps regional lockdown.

With the illuminations over and the tourist season months away we might actually have a chance of getting lower R rates on the Gold Coast.
Just roadblock both the M65 and ban the Woad warriors from crossing Hardrians wall and we have a chance

I think he’s releasing the Christmas details in the next few days .
Tier 3 isn’t too far off the current lockdown to be honest, apart from you can get a haircut and go to Primark again !
No pubs, restaurants or cafes at all in the new tier 3 rules.

Just had my post removed for naming Asian communities being the reason Lancs figures are high'
I am not racist and I know its factual as my partner is a tester who is regularly drafted into certain areas that are predominately Asian.

I have a mixed-race Grandson and have dated Asian and black girls in my past and have many friends of colour.
Strange how something factual is deleted but anyone advertising fraudulent behaviour with IPTV to defraud the club is allowed.
Which is it to be mods fact or theft?

According to the latest 'league table' of COVID cases per 100000. Blackpool is still 7 places below Lancahsire. Approx 50th in the national league table.

Tier 2 at worst..

Get the pubs and the football club open for business!!

Reportedly, Govt says restrictions that apply in different tiers won't be subject to negotiation and that decisions will be made on basis of:

- Cases among all age groups
- Cases among over-60s
- Rate by which cases are rising or falling
- Prevalence of virus in community
- Pressure on NHS

So the R rate forms only a part of the algorithm (R rate is estimated anyway, not measured).

Also, it isn't easy to quantify many of the other contributory factory.

So my belief is the Tier determined for each region (or city) won't be underpinned by scientific or mathematical justification, it'll jus be "because we say so".

Tier 3 coming to a place near you soon!

It didn't last long because everyone and their dog wanted tourists to come to the town at half term.
Guess what!! these day trippers were coming in from highly infected areas.
Now I'm no rocket scientist but that equation will only result in one thing....

Absolutely jack 👍🏻 Some of are dying for a nice bottle of red 🍷and a few shots in a nice pub👍🏻

Whatever tier we are in,I wont be going. Ifollow in the comfort of my home when I like, too many whities with no common sense in the stands to stay clear of.

Another factor in Blackpool is that it recognised that it is high in terms health inequalities. This means parts of the population have very poor general health and this increases the risks if they get Covid.

If Blackpool is in Tier 1 or 2 there be no reason not to provided we can get 4,000 seats cleaned in time. 😩

This 4k limit is odd. Surely it's got to be some sort of scale. Why limit old Trafford to 4k?

Is it more to do with transport than the ground itself. I.e. 4k travelling to Man U is no different than 4k travelling to Blackpool?

I almost don't want to think about it as it will be so disappointing if we end up stuck in t3 for ages.

It's incredibly high there
It's a weird one Tim. About 20 mins drive from me, a few small towns, Sittingbourne, Faversham etc and nothing major. There are a couple of prisons on the Isle of Sheppey which have been hit bad. No major industries, employment, housing issues that I can think of. I do suspect it's possibly down to lack of playing by the rules sadly.

What happens if Bloomfield Rd itself is tier 1 or 2 but you live further away in a tier 3 zone? Can you attend? To date there haven't been any restrictions on travel in England...

Visionary!!! 😂

Seems to be a bit of a push for a Boxing Day armistice with families allowed back in (probably 2000?)

I think either way I'm going to wait until as many go as want to - don't think it'd be the same with just a couple of thousand fans in (I say this as a season ticket holder!).
