FAO Athers - Disabled BFC fans

Joe - just reading about our Fleetwood allocation, just wondering whether things have changed at BFC for disabled fans since the change of owner, how many disabled fans we have (who travel away etc as well as at home) and whether there is a BFC group?

Only asking out of interest.

Blackpool has loads of disabled spaces. Problem being most of them are all along the front so if it’s bad weather you’re getting wet and all the folk that can’t go 45 minutes without having a piss or a pint always walking in front of you.

Luckily I go at the top of E block which is a cracking view

As far as I'm aware Blackpool do not currently have a DSA. If there was enough interest in having one perhaps the club or the supporters should set one up. There are definitely a few disabled fans in the west stand, some of which go to some away games that are local. I personally go to a couple away games a season. Also I have not noticed any changes for disabled fans since Sadler took over, the SLO might give some insight if there has been any changes.

The problem with relocating disabled fans further back in the stands is its require reducing the current stand capacity to make room.

The top of E Block really is the best wheelchair spot in the ground. Back of the stand, great view, no people constantly walking in front of you.

That is definitely the biggest problem in the west, then the stewards stand in front of the stands for the last 5 minutes, which really annoyed one group sat at the front of L block on Saturday. As I'm ambulant and sit in the first few rows of the stand I don't get as much of a view restriction as a wheelchair user would get, but I can see how frustrating it must get for them, especially at nearly half time, and full time.

Yeah. I don’t get how folk can’t go 90 minutes without a drink or a pie

I help our equivalent at Dirty who are called LUDO and have attended their annual dinner for the last ten years. If you need any help then I or the lass who runs theirs can help.
I also donate about £100 every season which helps with the prizes and costs.
