Fave Guitar Riffs

Totally wired now!
Jimi Hendrix: Solo Little Wing. The guy played, loved, lived, caressed, brutalised, kissed, made love to his guitar(that’s one too far! Music Ed.) Nobody else could touch him. RIP Maestro.🎸

Just dug out Derek and the Dominoes double album, and played Little wing. Forgot what an awesome version of it that was! The great Duane Allman and slow hand, delivering a rifftacular bliss sesh of heavenly guitar vibes! Uhhhfh.🎸

Sadly, this is the very last ever Shpongle concert last year at Red Rocks, Colorado. Because Raja Ram (used to lead Quintessence in the early 1970s) has decided to retire at the age of 78. If you can’t sit through whole 2 hours 25 mins then jump to 2:10 for the start of their magnum opus “Around the World in a Tea Daze”.

No, I had not heard of Thievery Corporation, but I like what I hear from briefly dipping my toes in. I’ll check them out. Great thread, there’s so much music out there these days and not enough time, that one needs guidance to find new stuff you will enjoy.

Seven Nation Army - White Stripes
Smoke on the Water - Deep Purple
Fools Gold - Stone Roses
Waterfall - Stone Roses

Morrissey may be discredited these days but Johnny Marr on How soon is now still blows my mind.

Agreed Cat - HSIN is one of my fave Smiths tracks / as is the riff on what different does it make (just learned JM raised the guitar tuning to get that really jangly sound) ...

I watched a really good film on Morrissey recently England is Mine (Jack Lowden) - you seen it ?

Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth), George Harrison. Used to like this as a nice clean solo but then saw the Albert Hall Concert for George. The way the two slide players harmonise the solo is brilliant.

A few great riffs I’ve chosen to play from this ‘Favourite Riffs thread’ - all the basis of different songs but all structured around the same notes and different picking patterns on the A chord .... hope it’s informative for any budding guitarists.

Always up for a challenge if anyone wants me to try and the tackle any other riffs ....
Stay safe and UTP 🧡
