Favourite Play-Off Final

Been ruminating recently about our promotions via the play-offs. I couldn't get to the Torquay or Scunny finals, although the night of the Torquay match was a story in itself for me. This got me thinking which my favourite day was. Leave aside the impact of the promotion because 2010 wins hands down for that. But, which was posters' favourite day/weekend away?

Mine was the Layton Orient match in Cardiff. Went down with three mates the day before - down the A49 - staying in a pub at Usk. A good night was had, followed by a good breakfast then down to Cardiff. We got parked up and did several hostelries before, almost, falling into the ground for a great match. Beers in a pub afterwards then back up the motorway for a finisher in the Thatched. A great weekend.

Has to be beating Cardiff, great sunny day, actually had a number of beers with the Cardiff supporters before the game (all good no issues) then to win and get to the Premiership cannot be beaten 👍👍👍👍👍👍 best first 45 minutes of any play off final end of 👍👍👍 oh and I have only missed 1 play off / minor cup final in 30 years (LDV and all the other names it’s had since 😂)

Cardiff by a mile. Stuff dreams are made of.
Agree with Dave though, Yeovil was a walk in the park.

Definitely beating Cardiff most of my friends are Cardiff fans and we're all there and of course i was there best day of my life

Torquay was horrendous!
Scunthorpe was a great night. 1st time seeing us win at Wembley.
Cardiff were great days out.. love that stadium.
Yeovil felt so straight forward. No worries at all.
Cardiff by far meant the most to me, and probably everyone else for a one off game.
Was gutted when Wet Spam beat us but in hindsight it was a great result!
Lincoln for the weekend tho is my favourite. Was lucky enough to be one of the privileged to get a ticket after all of the lockdown issues. Great result too. Was so pleased for SS.
Also, coming from Morecambe, we were lucky enough to get tickets for their game the next day too. Met up with plenty of locals there too.
Double games and double win. Great weekend 🍊 🍤 ⚽⚽

I loved the Yeovil and Cardiff ones for the occasion, the whole day brilliant from start to finish.

However, I’m going to say Lincoln above all as I knew we had our club back. I watched it with my daughter, who was one at the time, in our living room in Moscow region and I just felt truly happy.

Cardiff aside, it would be Yeovil for me.
Never been so relaxed at a football match, I can't recall thinking we were in danger at any time
Too relaxed. Agree, the goal from Parker was very good but there was not much else of consequence. Don't get me wrong, we played well and there was some good football but I was never on the edge of my seat.

We've generally been in really good play off finals.

I imagine both Leyton Orient and Cardiff were crackers for the neutrals. My favourite was probably Leyton Orient as it was my first, but then I was with a bigger and closer group of mates for the Cardiff final. Can't split them.

Cardiff the obvious choice, but Yeovil was the one for me. I was 26 at the time never having seen us in the top 2 divisions. That day meant a lot.

Cardiff is number 1 but I have to say I really enjoyed being at last years semi & final. After over a year of lockdowns, shut pubs, trying to home school a child whilst working, no football etc, it just felt really liberating to have a weekend away with the family and watch the game.

Don’t know about anyone else who was there but I really felt a sense of life restarting that weekend, not to mention the privilege of actually being at the match.
