Favourite sausage....

I'm half of a Sausage based DJ act called, appropriately enough, Sausage. We've stretched our one joke of badly overdubbing the word "sausage" into songs (whilst wearing weird masks against a backdrop of sausage based visuals) out for years now.

I've done a whole series of film posters with the tasty meat cylinders in.

Favourite sausage shop / sausage

Off till Tuesday now and having a jaunt out to Skipton tomorrow followed by a pitstop at Clitheroe on the way back to visit Cowmans butchers aka sausage shop.
About 100 varieties of sausage, what is not to like !!!
Have you been ?
And what is your favourite sausage shop or sausage?
Pork and parmesan for me 🥰
Just got back from the same trip! Stayed over in skipton for a couple of nights, went to Cowmans and the food hall at Holmes Mill on the way back.
Bought some Nduja and we have got pork and parmesan, italian herb and olive, and chili beef sausages.
Enjoyed a few nice ales in The Boat House at skipton the last couple of afternoons, sunny spot by the canal with really good beer.
Hope you enjoyed your day out Lala.

Hey what a coincidence, sounds ace, did you enjoy ?
Am just back. Had a Stanforth pork pie for lunch , superb 👍 A pint of lemonade and chillout outside The Castle Inn then off to Clitheroe for sausages.
I’ve bought a selection of beef and beer, pork and parmesan, lamb and mint, and a couple of the Trent Valley Pork national award winning breakfast sausage 🤗
Lovely chilled day out 👌

Cumberland!!

Can't believe Im the first to mention the king of sausages....

I do recall a wonderful Cumberland from my yoof, & I have been endlessly trying to find one as good...

There was an awesome sausage shop in Carnforth, but sadly the two old brothers who ran it retired about 10yrs ago...

I am still searching for the ultimate sausage, I know how it tastes, I just cant find it, ... & may never 😭
You might try Cranstons Butchers in Penrith. They have a great range of sausages and local Cumberland produce is a speciality of theirs.

Huddlestons in Windermere, Cumberland made as a link, we served them to our guests and I loved em hot, cold, main meal, breakfast, butties.

Now I'm veggie, Cauldron Vegetarian Lincolnshire style. We have even converted some of our carnivore family to them, just good food
Mrs likes these...won’t eat the real thing anymore so if we have sausage and mash ( or even an english breakfast) I have to cook them( and in fairness they’re not bad as are their cumberland‘s) and “proper” for me....waitrose( we fortunately have one in the “village”..Cheadle Hulme😉) gourmet Cumberland or old Gloucester are not bad.....and they are down on our menu for the week for next Thursday.
A fiery chicken curry tonight with home made Dahl,Green Beans and Chick Peas in spicy coconut sauce, oven roasted tumeric aubergines with rice, popadoms and red onions and Naan bread( left overs are on Monday’s Menu List😉)
Time to cook😉

I do a spicy Sausage stew with Chorizo, Black Pudding, and Three spice sausages from Asda. Plenty of beans, Tomato, onion, garlic, bell pepper, chili, ginger, and a mixture of spices. A touch of beer and stock, Delicious.

A simple smoked Haddock on a bed of spinach, a poached egg on top, and new potatoes as an accompaniment. Followed by freshly picked Rhubarb made into a crumble with custard tonight.

Me and the Duchess were in Skipton today 👍

Never really been a fan of the sausage. I mean I'll eat them on a brekky or a BBQ but however you dress them up with pretence of "quality" they are still a bit sad and I'll swap them in a heartbeat for your bacon 🥓🥓🥓 mmmmm Bacon...........

I think we've done this one before MAC.

As you say, there is no such thing as a quality sausage because only the chit meat that gets swept of the floor goes in them along with various other chite.

They are bloody lovely though !!!!!!!!!!!

Not sausage based but Skipton is great & we’ve not yet introduced the dog who’s 2 in July to dog friendly Skipton due to Covid-19. Roll on June. 😃
Loads of dogs in Skipton today. Some real beauties too 👍

Good to hear, i do like it over there, and you can't beat an award winning sausage!👍

Merguez the spicy Moroccan sausage popular in France. Had a favourite watering hole on the coastal route between Bayonne and Biarritz and would enjoy these cooked on a BBQ in the beer garden. Washed down with copious amounts of bierre Kanterbrau on endless summer nights long ago 👍

Hot dog in New York, maybe not the best quality but as far as tradition and nostalgia goes 👍, had one at the top of the Empire State building😋 plus at most places in NY you can add as many toppings as you want

Bratwurst from Lidl are very nice. Weisswurst are also very nice they’re a bit of a breakfast delicacy in Bavaria washed down with a Weissbier but l don’t know where you can buy them in this area🤔
