Up to a third forecast to close due to rising costs, but what on earth is that on the phot from sky news!7042D7A4-CF56-45A5-A7CB-78982984A3D3.jpegwhat on earth is that brown thing in the photo taken from sky news!

I've found it cheaper to cook my own anyway, a decent piece of Red Snapper or Pollock in beer batter is just as good as Cod.

Pubs, bookies, snooker halls are all closing or already have done and now chippies.

Thank feck I still have the church.

Mate of mine selling his van and fish round business.
With the cost of fish rising so much in the last 12 months and him having to put his prices up accordingly his customers are no longer buying it.

Don't eat a lot of takeaways but had steak pudding chips peas and gravy the other week was shocked at the price.

The only reason the church has lasted so long is, it's part of the establishment culture. So they can look solemn when people are killed in war's (sometimes avoidable) & when somebody supposedly important pops their clogs. I shudder to think what this type of coverage will be when the Queen eventually passes. The congregations have been falling for years as the older people die off & I suspect not many youngsters believe there is any point, or believe full stop. I don't believe personally, but there is a bit of community spirit that comes along with the churches activities, this is sadly becoming lost in society these days, be it through the church or not.
Perhaps they need to do the fish & bread miracle to reduce prices & save our chippies, alternatively sell fish & chips from the mainly redundant churches.

Maybe churches could sell fish & chips, boost their income and get more people in. It’s a win win.

In 1948 we had a chip pan fire at home, fire brigade attended and it was front page in the gazette. No real damage though.

Or, you know, some people may have genuine faith, and believe their religion is important to them.
