I worked with a flat earther once. He was a top.lad but as soon as he started I had to leave the room. It saved me causing the lad offence by calling him a fidiot. 🤣🧡

I debated a flat earther once, he stormed off to walk to the edge of earth to prove me wrong. He will come round again.
 
But what is on the other side of the flat surface? A parallel world where people stand on their heads? Discuss
 
There is a really strong and thriving conspiracy theory sub culture in Hartlepool.

Genuinely believe all the crap they watch on YouTube.

They make me laugh, until they start on stuff like vaccinations for children are unnecessary.

They go down a rabbit hole they can't escape. And each link reinforces the last one.

My favourite joke around this epidemic, is that the flat earth society are complaining about social distancing as it's pushing their members over the edge!
 
I have a 'once upon a time he was a friend' who is into every conspiracy going; flat Earth, Chemtrails, Virus control, engineered clouds etc. When I asked him "if the Earth was genuinely flat then why, if I stood on the West coast of Ireland, couldn't I see the lights of New York even with the best telescope?"


I've never heard from him since!🤣🤣🤣
 
Greek scholars dating back to the 5th Century BC knew that the Earth is a sphere. Nearly all educated Europeans accepted this by the middle-ages (600-1000 AD).

I used to work with a guy who said he had discovered the link between science and religion. He wouldn't say anymore other than he was going to amaze the world by writing a book disclosing it. He was dead serious about it!
 
How do we know if something is “true” or “false”, stating something is true is creating an illusion of order in a universe that is indifferent from us. My advice to people is accept the chaos and do what you want.

We have the same problem with BASIL (Imposter) in Layton.

Despite the overwhelming evidence they still wont concede to the cold,hard facts; you just couldnt make it up.

Well that would explain why the good people of Hartlepool voted so heavily in favour of Brexit! 😉
 
This subject has puzzled me for a while how people can believe in something that is so nonsensical with all the available evidence to prove otherwise. Plenty of ancient cultures new the earth was round thousands of years ago new it was flat.
So theory is some people
Are making a lot of money out of the lunatics, be organising a seminar, or subscribing them to website,s or just selling them a t shirt, hoodie, keyring etc. Much like the evangelical preacher's in the states.
 
I’m a philosophy graduate and these sorts of threads trigger the f out of me

Had not known of this so just watched it, what a bunch of deluded clowns. Love how their great experiment at the end proved the exact opposite of what they were trying to prove.
