Spending a lot of money. They’ve bought 4 players already who are strong for league 1. If the new manager is half decent think they’ll be in the play offs next season. Pumping money in Pilley, can only presume he’s got his mojo back, and Accrington chairman already moaning about them on Twitter

They couldn't spend any money last season due to transfer embargo

I posted today about their recent capture a player for six figures.

Far cry from what Wiz was telling us a short while ago about Pilley having no money and the club were skint. 🤣

Dog food Dave next splashing the cash. 😮

Must be honest I think Morton on a 3 year deal at League 1 is quite an incredible signing given his previous form at Northampton, Lincoln and the fact Peterborough loaned him for the first half of last season in the Championship. Young player with tons of energy and if they can get him scoring he’ll be worth a decent chunk of money. I wanted him at BFC last season before we signed Lavery (who’s a very similar player). I imagine West Brom have a fairly sizeable cut of any future profit.

At the risk of getting pelters for turning this thread into a cod love in but in addition to Morton, who is a great signing for league 1, they got Josh Vela who a load of teams were in for, bought a Colchester midfielder for a 6 figure sum when there was supposedly Championship clubs in for him, and a Scottish fullback whose name I can’t remember but again Scottish Prem clubs were in for as well. Spending a phenomenal amount for league 1 can only think Pilley‘s raking it in with the energy crisis or he’s won his court case and got big damages. Totally unsustainable but why not if he’s passionate about football you can’t take it with you.

5 players. A keeper, a defender, two midfielders and a forward today.

Have they paid off the cap-in-hand loan from the EFL yet?

Seems they’ve brought in a couple of good young players, an experienced head who knows the division and a couple of squad-fillers, so best of luck to them. Should certainly be four teams worse, and potentially quite a few more.

Last season appears to have been a wake up call when they avoided relegation by a whisker.

Presumably Pilley doesn't want to go through that again.

Would be a real shame if they were relegated after spending on new players.

In for a penny, in for a pound......Pilley cant just take his ball home when it gets tough
This is when he throws everything at the wall in the hope something sticks.......one last go before the fat lady sings......
He will hope that every cloud has a sliver lining with the new gaffer, because tomorrow is another day and it is what it is......

Yet you were the one that said they were skint and Pilley didn’t have two pennies to rub together? 🤐

Think they might surprise a few people this season new manager, some decent signings, Pilley got his mojo back again which will piss a few off. 🤣

How many have left and what deals were they on? He has to be seen to be supporting the new manager too.

I didn't say he didn't have two pennies either. He'll be fleecing pensioners even more than previously with the licence to print money that is energy bills.

You didn’t granted but you’ve said more than once that they are skint and this season would be their downfall.

Time will tell I suppose.

I’am sure Comical Allez will keep everyone updated. (Unless they win of course) 🤣

I would think the keeper is the only bench player, the other four are guaranteed starters.

The chequers is his third hotel in blackpool, one for the academy players and one breck apartments, not daft is our Andy.
