For the love of all that is holy...

Not wrong at all to voice concerns and point out problems if there are any, as i have said previously we all have opinions and we are all correct because that's what we believe or think. i am not saying we don't need to strengthen all i have said on this thread from the start is that the players have to take some responsibility for the current position the club is in and i got shot down by the dummy throwers.
I agree with you to some extent. Players who don't try 100%, or who play sloppy passes, or are fitness lacking DO have to take some responsibility, but it isn't about that. It's about what the whole purpose of the cub is. What it's trying to do and how to do that. There has to be some sort of ongoing plan that leads to smooth transition between managers and players (both move on).

Yes people can blame Bruce for the signings and they probably do have a point, but had there been some sort of plan in place from SS/DD then they would have said no to 5 wingers etc. They would have said that we need a left sided LCB so no we are not signing 2 right sided CB's and certainly wouldn't have sanction 3+1 deals for over 30's players. Money hasn't been skimped on these things.

The plan would have dictated that IE would have followed in the footsteps of SB almost, taking over a team and developing that, not rebuilding one which he'll have to do.

I think this is basic.

I note IE said about targeting young released players from City, Liverpool etc. Again this is basic and something I've said for years. We should have an academy specialist who's job it is is to forge links with these Clubs so he can get the heads up on who will be let go. Remember not all players are let go because because they are the worst ones there, but sometimes because they are surplus to the position. This is what a SD should be overseeing.

Grayson tried that at Dirty in fact and it didn't really work as those top PL clubs are quite cute with their sales, and I could rattle loads of who didn't really cut it. Pennington was one (from Everton) and Scott Wootton was another and then there's the loan option, where Djed Spence was a complete waste of time-it really (as you've stated) needs a good quality scouting system to catch them early.

One significant opportunity that's arisen with an influx of international youth players is that the English/UK lads are getting overlooked, and that should make it a tad easier to recruit if you've got your stall set out. I think Bristol City's George Tanner -a Fylde lad-came through the ManU books and ended up with a professional contract at a time when the Seasiders could possibly have picked him up, and I wonder how many have slipped through that net whilst managers and coaches have been changed at BR?
