Otherwise known as Gavin Williamson, gone in the re-shuffle. He shan't be missed.
Completely ineffectual and made some monumental cock-ups during his couple of years in charge of education. I wonder which inept buffoon will replace him, surely can't be worse than him, Disco Gove or Pan- Faced Morgan. But then again....

Maybe he should sack himself. Spent too long in the presence of miserable scientists to actually lead the country through significant change

Who would have thought it? Jobs given on the basis of political dogma don't necessarily lead to the best quality...
But even then, you have to wonder what goes through people minds when they give the likes of Williamson and Raab a job. Raab always gives the impression that his operating system is about to shut down and Williamson looks like an incompetent sales rep who would like to come across as vindictive if only he could spell it.

How does somebody like Williamson become the minister for Education when I am certain he hasn't got the intelligence or people skills to be Head Teacher of a small junior school.
That goes for most of the ministers, what a bizarre system we have when somebody like Hancock in Health or Williamson in Education have no background or relevant qualifications yet they are running the show.
I think Williamson was a fireplace salesman! It makes no sense.

Agreed - unfortunately experienced and successful ex-headteachers don't get a look in when making policies, neither do current ones and none get near to being the Education secretary. Any idiot in government can though as they 'went to school once too'. Imagine if they did the same thing with the defence secretary position? Ben Wallace at least knows what he is talking about and has some credibility.

The standard of teaching and facilities at Oxford and Cambridge are second to none, yet they turn out some of the worlds most inept and baseline uneducated leaders of the world.
If you look at the number of previous Prime ministers that have studied there and even overseas leaders it’s frightening.
Somewhere like Balliol college must be embarrassed at the buffoon like skills they’ve turned out

I avoid these threads like the plague these days but when I do occasionally foolishly return I am quickly reminded why I keep clear. It`s just the same old partisan posters trotting out the same brain washed dogma, nothing new here, so I`ll happily leave you to it.

Enjoy.

Yep good move👍🏻 Hopefully the new geezer will get a firmer grip of the far left wing headteachers (head masters in my day) have a good clear out and give our kids the better education they deserve 👍🏻

Aye ok👍 Think you’ll find most headteachers don’t give a stuff about party politics and care about their pupils, rather than the incumbents at the top who don’t have a clue, promote their self-interests and make poor decisions. Strong leadership from the top, regardless of party is what we need. Along with education not being used as a political football👍

How on earth do re-shuffles work anyway? If you did a re-shuffle at my place, stuck a manager in a programming job, made a cleaner a team lead, stuck a developer in a testing role etc. nothing productive would get done for months, if not years.
