Free'ish £5 sky bet

Why would you get into bed with a bookie for the sake of a fiver? They'll end up taking a lot more than that off you! I worked in one for a while in the 80s. Nobody beat the bookie over a period of time.

It's a free country etc. But it's a mugs game ultimately and we would get wives coming in to collect the paltry returns of blokes who had lost more than they could afford to lose! Blokes who were addicted. It's a very expensive addiction for some people. Just my view on it.

Stuck it on both Rashford and Bamford to score, 8/1.

Game finishes 6 - 2 and neither of them score. Unbelievable.
 
I went big 50/1 both teams to score in each half 2+ corners each half and 20 booking points each.

Unfortunately no one had the good grace to get sent off.

Come on Voy, I know you mean well and are only trying to help but what you are saying is akin to telling somebody not to have a glass of wine with their dinner because you know of an alcoholic wife beater.

If Hawk and his troops want to add to their enjoyment of the game for next to no cost then surely the weakness of others shouldn't prevent them from doing so ?

Yeah I get that, but I'm not preventing anybody doing anything, just offering an opinion based in a pretty grim past experience. Everyone is free to do whatever they want within the law.

Yes, that's fair enough Voy, I know you mean well and apologies if my post was OTT.
 
I hesitate to get involved here and as you said Voy gambling can be a dangerous addiction for some who MUST stay away but as 2020 said if you can enjoy a glass of wine without becoming an alcoholic then there`s no problem with a bit of fun betting on the same principle.

I would also say that whilst 98% of punters may lose, if you work at it it is possible to make a decent profit if you can identify only those bets where with the odds offered you can turn the percentages in your favour.Two small examples in the last 3 days for me.On Friday I backed a horse at 1/1 that won at 2/5 SP.Yesterday I backed a horse at 4/5 that won at 2/7 SP. Not huge wins but with the percentages very much in my favour rather than the bookies at the odds I took.It`s all about betting not just when you fancy something to win but only when you can estimate that the odds on offer are longer than it`s true chances of winning.It`s about maths and probabilities really or you can bet for a bit of fun as long as you keep within a sensible budget and don`t chase your losses.
