Full marks to David Beckham

With respect, he's only done what everyone else should be doing & me being cynical, he's been on all the news broadcasts and in all the newspapers. He's desperate to get that knighthood.
It's the queue jumpers who need highlighting - as seen in todays newspapers. Which includes most if not all MP's (and their mates), and 'Holly & Phil".

That's OK, I understand you feel the need to denigrate the occasion and anyone who supports it in any way you can.

If Beckham had wanted to attract attention, he would have joined the queue around 7 in the morning, just in time for breakfast TV and queueing during daytime when he'd be more noticed.
Maybe with his wife. Maybe having alerted the paparazzi.

But he joined at 2AM, alone, standing in the dark like everyone else.

I've never been a fan and he's done some daft things in his time, but credit to him for doing this the right way.

What part of joining this queue that hundreds of thousands of others has, at 2am to not attract attention is meaning he wants a knighthood. This country is vile isn't it really? Any of our super successful sports stars we always have an element of this country that decides they hate them for absolutely NO reason at all. Lewis Hamilton I can get, because he's black and out there, makes a stand and wears "funny" clothes. But some of them that get it. This country ruins itself.
