The facts:
Two nights ago United won a relatively dramatic match in the Champions league with a goal from punching bag Harry Maguire and under fire keeper Onana saving a last minute penalty.
Garnacho, 19 year old Argentinian teammate and new great hope posts a tweet of Maguire and Onana celebrating with the Gorilla emoji, which people younger than me explain is used similarly to the GOAT (greatest of all time) emoji to express how powerful someone is.
The usual suspects have kicked up a fuss because Onana is black and Monkeys/Gorillas have historically been a racial insult to black people. Onana has now taken to twitter to say:
And yet the FA have confirmed they're investigating the 'incident'. Have I missed something, or is this 1984 style hysteria?
