Gary Bowyer Sacked

They dropped out of the playoffs on goal difference at the weekend. Odd time to pot a manager when the window is now closed and presumably they've been investing in players Bowyer wanted.

Their owners (a German consortium / company?) haven't got a clue, have they?
They've now got rid of 4 managers in 2 years. Don't tell me they were all duffers.
So now there'll be another new appointment, turnover in players in the summer, time to gel etc - rinse and repeat.

It's the exact scenario I want Sadler to avoid by canning Grayson.

The style of play and results are clearly no where near acceptable but we don't want to become a club who aren't willing to give managers time to get their own players in and the chance to show what brand of football they can then deliver.

For me, if there's no signs of improvement by the end of the season then it's maybe time we look for a brighter, hungrier manager.

I've always believed Bowyer, McPhillips and Grayson to be a very similar style of manager.
Not sure a couple of days after the transfer window closes is the best time to bring a new man in.

Bradfords owners are typical bad owners. They don't seem to understand how to run a club properly

I think I'd have him back! Seemed like a proper manager to me and at least had the morals to leave when he did.

You get the feeling Bradford is a real poison challice these days. Bet they don't get the crowds they got when we played them on the opening day of the season!

When they let Eoin Doyle return to Swindon on a permanent deal because he didn't want to play for Bratfud.....while letting their own leading scorer; James Vaughan go to Tranmere..... on loan. It say that not all is well at the club.

Agree with Poolman that it's a poison chalice and whoever gets the job 🙏 they will have the fans on their backs from day 1.
And as Tangerine Dream says...It's exactly what could happen here with Larry if SS doesn't give him the time to develop the team.

I can see any working manager giving up their security by taking the Bratfud job......

The boo-boys seem to have got their way. I know a number of Bradford fans who didn't want him potted and said they could see what he was trying to do. I fully expected him to get them into the playoffs, at least. But, who am I to judge?🤔

some would say an ideal time !! 😜

The fans don’t like him and the board have acted to try and give some impetus to the challenge. Funnily enough not many fans liked him when he was here....I remember as I spent quite a lot of time defending him. Grayson appears to be similarly unloved in the fan base.

I think the writing was on the wall as soon as he let Eoin Doyle go out on loan - Bradford fans didn’t forgive him for that one.

Poor manager in my opinion, was above his level in league one and now league two is even above him.

No doubt he’ll be back soon failing yet again.

What was he actually like as Blackpool manager? Tactics etc? I know he was under Oyston rules and regulations but from memory we did our classic sneaking in to the Play Offs at the death? I remember being quite impressed by the semi final game against Luton at home.
