Get Branagan and Lose Bowler?

Bit of a harsh choice - bearing in mind how much we got for Critch, could we not have got them both?

Neither has happened yet.

Plus bowler needs to up his game, especially defensively, he's unplayable at times, but too ofte

Quite a few players are out of contract next summer, and some of them will be moved on, so some rebuilding will be needed, which will need funds, and the club can't risk losing Bowler for nothing.

Secure Branagan, keep Josh - but ban him from entering our defensive third of the pitch where he's a liability. Pay for the deal with the compensation obtained from Judas's move to Villa

It would be nice to have both but very unlikely i suspect Theo is to replace bowler as he operates from wide areas and Brannigan to bolster the midfield.

Bowler will go for nothing next year. So we either think a year of him is worth the loss of transfer fee or sell and 're invest. The latter makes most sense in longer term so long as we don't think without Bowler we will go down this season.

Bowler apparently had assurances that T’Rovers won’t sell any of their best players and are looking for promotion 😂😂😂

Surely Bowler is worth more to us than a couple of mil for a season?
Easy for us to say.

It's no secret that our model under Sadler is to invest in players, develop them and sell them for a profit. Bowler was a freebie who's now worth millions.

I'd love us to keep him but his contract situation makes it very difficult. Letting contracts run down and losing players like Vaughan and Baps for free out of bloody-mindedness was among the criticisms rightly made of the previous owners.

Sell him for 2m and bring in 2/3 young talents that can push on and make the squad stronger. Plus they will have sell on value in the future. Makes sense to me.
apparently, it's impossible to sell your best player and make the team stronger... Once you've sold your best player, then you can only get worse and worse until you eventually cease to exist and then the sky caves in and the world will end. 👍

I was more trying to suggest we’d earn more in the long run by staying up than on a transfer fee for Bowler

And I go for the former. In preseason I've seen Bowler passing well in addition to taking players on. He could be key to a good play-off position.

I was in the shop today. Josh was in there and someone asked if he was leaving. He said no. Doesn’t mean he won’t, but that’s what he said.

Well if Bowler now goes, I think this will be our worst summer since the McDonald era.
All we need now is to make Lubala captain!
