Not surprised at what they charge.Plenty to choose from in Booths
Carrs are made in Carlisle in the oldest biscuit manufacturing site in the world.A recommendation folks, on the accompanying biscuit.
I'm quite open to all sorts, like to keep it varied. But I've just found a new one to me - Carrs. I've had loads of theirs, the thins are very good but these are Crispbreads, and as well as tasting great have the added advantage of being wrapped in sets of 4. So you don't let a whole pack go soft in the unlikely event they're open more than a few days.
Yeah, bugger the cheeseLoads of it in ASDA. Just come back with another 6 bottles of wine at 25% off.
Tom TowersGood cheese shop in Lytham, why give your money to a corporate w️

Good evening '66, at last, a topic worthy of discussionBritain's oldest cheese.
Where's CCF Skiver when you need him?
And this season's offering from Skiver is...?Good evening '66, at last, a topic worthy of discussion
M&S had a couple of the £9.00 selection trays in last week. I bought one priced at £5.00. It is the same selection except the Tomme de Brebis is missing and the Bleu d'Auvergne is replaced by Fourme d'Ambert, which is still a nice Auvergne blue. It's always difficult, but I think I will be going for an English and French selection again this year, tastings underway already, plus a Burrata, which is excellent with some fresh olives and a crusty bread, rather than a cracker. I've been keeping my eye on the M&S cheese section at Cleveleys for the Mont D'Or and the selection tray, but nothing yet, I'm afraid. I'll try Blackpool next week.
Cheers '66, I'll pop in during the week and see what they've got. I've been ordered to reduce the number of cheeses this year, which makes things difficult. Having said that, I never took well to being given orders from an early age, hence the username A new cheese for me this year will be a Tunworth, another one recommended by James Martin.M&S had a couple of the £9.00 selection trays in last week. Yes, have a good one Skiver. Big family probs at the mo' with mother on her way out, so mind not as much on the gastronomic as it might be. So, I've bought a Dewlay Lancs mild, Garstang Blue, aged Double Gloucester and a Cret Gruyère. Here's hoping for a quiet Christmas.I don't know about you '66, but it's proved difficult this year to come up with something new and, I've not been able to get hold of a Tunworth so it's the old favourites for me this year:
1) Mature Cheddar
2) Mont D'Or - which is going in the tartiflette
3) Comte
4) Stilton
5) Brie
I have managed to slip in a Gruyere, which went into an omelette savoyarde and a Roquefort, which is being delivered on friday
Have a great Christmas and New Year
UTMP!!!
