Glastonbury off

I have tickets for both the Who and Genesis re--arranged concerts in March and April at Leeds. I am surprised there has been nothing yet about these. I can't see any chance of 10k crowds in such an indoor arena by then

The Picturedome in Holmfirth have cancelled all gigs up to Mid March so far. Personally I think it will be Aug/Sept at the earliest before we get any live music gigs/events to go to. If it is any sooner, YAY 😎🇯🇲

We can’t even get a 2000+ into an outdoor venue to watch football ( regardless of the size of the stadium ) , which we will be lucky to see by the end of the season btw ..... then the likes of Glastonbury simply didn’t stand a chance.
Almost a year in and we are no further forward.

Plenty of concerts will still be penciled in to go ahead because as soon as they are cancelled people will want their money back.

Plenty people are rolling over to the rescheduled dates too. There is a similar loyalty to live music/theatre/arts as there is to the loyalty football fans are displaying during this tricky period.

Yeah I get that, fair play to them.
We were supposed to go see Guns N' Roses at Tottenham last summer and we rolled over to this summer instead.
Can't see it happening though.

Just been reading an article interviewing one of the network chiefs that organise these events. It first referred to the US where their chief medical officer has said full concerts may be back by the autumn, provided 75 to 80% of the population are vaccination. The UK organiser mntioned that some of the earlier summer concerts may get cancelled very soon (hence Glastonbury) because there is still too much uncertainy and insurers were reluctant to provide cover in these circumstances. He did sound more confident for late summer / autumn providing there had already been mass vaccination and also application of testing at sites.

Terrible for all the musicians who just can't perform. Gutted for them.

Gutted for me too as I can't see any live music being allowed for possibly another 6 to 9 months, very depressing.

Me too BF hotel booked as well, it’s not going to happen this year. But l assume with it being a football stadium it will be difficult to know if it can be rearranged for next year until we know how this season and next will map out. Far too many dependencies in the way at the moment.

There was little point in booking tickets or holidays for 2021. Let's face it until we're all vaccinated which could be the end of August, they're not going to risk this virus running wild again .. what I don't get is why they don't put on the gig and live stream it to those who've paid and to anyone who wants to watch. One way of keeping the industry going.

The music industry must be on its arse as artists rely heavily on live gigs for there income these days due to streaming as well as all the roadies lighting crews ect bad times for them.

Some bands have done that but when a lot of concerts are over a ton no chance your going to pay that for a streem tenner at most.

We've got some small festivals rolled over from last year, first one should be in May (doubtful & it's only a few hundred)
By the time we get back listening to bands they'll have forgotten how to play.

Genesis have now rescheduled their Apil tour to late September.
I am surprised that The Who haven't announced new dates yet, as they are due to tour in March

The Final Countdown is ace, like a folk version on mogadon.

Basicly if you condense a 12 month 2021 into the last 4 months of the year you won't be far off... Film releases.. Sport...Holidays abroad ( maybe) etc etc
