GLYN JAMES

It's Glyn NOT Glynn James. He Played for BFC between 1959 and 1974 making 440 appearances and scoring 25 goals; the latter not bad for a centre half. We were so lucky to have in succession Harry Johnson, Roy Gratrix and Glyn James.

Stanley Mathews Stand
Mortensen Kop,
The Armfield Stand

and the Glyn James Stand 🙁

Though a good servant, I'm not sure he was held in such high esteem as the three legends above.

Jimmy Hampson, Harry Johnson, Alan Ball and Tony Green were though.

Probably Jimmy Hampson for me.

Glyn is a lovely fella. Ran a laundry that washed the players’ kit for a long time (and has lots of stories of Owen’s ‘largesse’. Seem to recall him selling it to Steve Thompson (?)
