PervertJust been awarded the AIG Womens Open in 2026. Probably a test for the new holes ready for the men to return soon.
I'm actually happier about the women coming as its more accessible.

Honestly, you two. Next you'll be telling each other where the cheapest place is to buy Kleenex man-size.Yes very good news. Will be going with my binoculars, makes for good viewing. Is there a salivating emoji.
Listen. I'm sure he's not the only man with a keen eye for Dame Laura.Pervert
Me too. My mum used to be a steward so I'd go down. Been to Lytham & Birkdale for the event. Closer accessibility to the golf and far more relaxed.I prefer the women's open to the men's due to the stupidly large crowds. The women are brilliant to watch, I've been four times.

The arse one is now on the cheek.I was lucky enough to steward in 88, walking down the last on the Monday with Seve about 50m to my left will always be one of my favourite life moments. Which holes have they changed?
Haven’t changed any yet but work due to start in October by shifting the 7th & 11th holes across thereby creating room on the right of the 11th for a new driving range area.I was lucky enough to steward in 88, walking down the last on the Monday with Seve about 50m to my left will always be one of my favourite life moments. Think the path crosses the 8th and behind the tee for the 11th.Are 7 & 11 the ones with the public path crossing?
Yeah but what about the golf?!?!?Probably a test for the new holes ready for the men to return soon.

Unfortunately LSA will never be big enough commercially for the men's game, a real shame. Size ofthe holes are irrelevant. Will be sufficient for women's and seniors though. I remember potg in years gone by.....Haven’t changed any yet but work due to start in October by shifting the 7th & 11th holes across thereby creating room on the right of the 11th for a new driving range area.
You should give RL a heads up then as the work they are going to do to the course is to get the Open back after discussions with the R & A… it’s not “size of the holes” it’s moving them to create more space for the Open infrastructure.Unfortunately LSA will never be big enough commercially for the men's game, a real shame. I hope you're right Adams. Be fantastic to get it back again, I just can't see it having attended several other Opens that are on a completely different size and scale. You should give RL a heads up then as the work they are going to do to the course is to get the Open back after discussions with the R & A… it’s not “size of the holes” it’s moving them to create more space for the Open infrastructure.
Save them doing it now if you know they won’t get it again
He is 100% correctI hope you're right Adams. Be fantastic to get it back again, I just can't see it having attended several other Opens that are on a completely different size and scale.
Yes! This is what the game needs. The possibilities are endless.I’ve heard the Men’s Open is coming to Royal Poulton-Le-Fylde all agreed bar where they are going to put the two sets of white markers on each of the 9 tees
Knott End and Stanley Park spring to mind with internal OB's. Are these internal OB's in use for everyday members or just when hosting the Open.I was lucky enough to steward in 88, walking down the last on the Monday with Seve about 50m to my left will always be one of my favourite life moments. Brendan and Dave Marsh can be flown in to run the Sky teaching tent. Brendan, operating from the old brick building by the very old first tee, will also be in charge of checking every player is carrying their own (golf) bag of clubs, and selling discounted Grated balls to anyone who needs them.
Ken Brown will be discovered in the ditch across the 1st, 8th etc. And be ejected from the course as a suspected ball hunter.
The field will be enormous, and starts will have to be staggered to cope. Some will start at the first, others will go halfway down the 5th and start from there. As that's a par 3 of about 90 yards, it's expected that hole will have to be modified to present more of a challenge. Favourite idea is to release the chickens from behind the green and have them attack players.
And members will gather on the Schofield Verandah for the presentation.
