Mrs Lime got her car insurance renewal yesterday, Last year £280, this year £260!!!!

Wow & we didn't have to ring them & threaten to leave, & for that much, I cant be bothered comparing on Tinternet...

She is paying less now, for a much more valuable car than she did nearly 40yrs ago???

Good news eh....

Blooming heck at this rate this board will soon have more positive threads than negative ones.
Are the D&G’s being put on the back foot these days? 😮

That’s because when you next have a minor to moderate accident you will have to battle the insurers yourself through an online portal to claim any injury damages including haggling over compensation amounts and arranging your own medical. David v Goliath and no legal representation.

that £20 was the big sell so that big insurers can control the claims process.

Oddly enough I’ve just renewed my caravan insurance for this year and it’s down £10 from last years premium. 😮

Different story with Direct Line, up £135 from last year and wouldn’t negotiate on the phone. I had a claim in December when some scrote scratched virtually every panel. Even though I pay over £30 a year to protect no claims and had to pay £300 excess they cited that as a reason for the increase.

Anyway switching to Aviva and saving £135.

Insurance is cheaper because driver mileage is down by around 75%. Far fewer drivers on the road = less risk. Nothing to do with Brexit in that sense.

Mine came through, £270 automatic renewal. Internet search gave me £174 same everything, including company. They should be allowed to do that.

Haven't phoned them yet.

More good news, ours is half the price over the last year, but that's because mine's been sorned on the drive since then, because the world went to hell.
