Grant Ward?

There were a few comments on him a couple of weeks back. The lad definitely has talent but unsure what position suits him best. Clearly the bad injury has knocked him back. He definitely needs a good pre-season but I think we'll see a lot more of him.

He's only 25 I presume it's up to him and how his body holds up after a serious injury but was a decent player a few seasons ago.
Jury's out.

Largely anonymous in games he played last season and not sure he is capable of making the grade but let’s see how he copes with new coaching methods.

Ward could be like getting a new signing. Obviously very talented and has had decent spells at Ipswich.

He’s not played in anger in a fair while now, but that could work in his favour as the further you get away from an injury the better for his long term fitness.

I wouldn’t count him out.

The two Ipswich fans I was speaking to in the boozer before we played them had nothing but good things to say about him and that was when they was in the Championship, suffered a bad injury though but hopefully this season we’ll see him hit form again.

Versatile player capable of playing RW, CM and RB. If he can make a full recovery from his injury and have a good pre-season he should be a very valuable player for us next season.

He’ll have some tough competition tho

I can see him being In the role for us what Oxlade-Chamberlain is for Liverpool.

Like someone else said already said he’ll be like a new player for us and its unfair to judge him on last season as he’d come back from a long time out and playing mainly under Simon the dinosaurs tactics which usual bypassed midfield.

The few times I saw him for Ipswich he looked a class act, he came to us unfit and after a serious injury.

With a full pre-season behind him, if he stays fit he could be a very important player for us.

I can see that too. He might end up playing with Virtue in the middle, he’s certainly played that position before.

With a full pre season under his belt I can see him having a really good season for us. Definitely got quality and a full pre season is extremely helpful for any player. Easy to say he was pretty poor for us last season but I don’t think he was ever anywhere near 100% fit so we definitely haven’t seen the best of him yet.

He had one touch against Wimbledon away (I think) that was sublime. He played really poorly overall but that bit of control was stunning and spoke of a player much better than the overall performance suggested.

I can't remember him starting any other games so I'm not sure anyone can fairly write him off. Might have started twice at most.

He was unfit and had hardly had any match play when he joined us. I saw him at Lincoln and he looked good. If he gets properly fit and stays injury free then he does have some skill and something to offer

Pool were turgid at Lincoln, and just as bad a week or so later at Wycombe, which, taken together, I think cost Larry his job. I posted at the time that GW’s football brain was working well, but his body couldn’t carry out it’s instructions.
