The striker was replaced by Nathan Delfouneso just after the hour-mark at the weekend, Delfouneso going on to win the penalty for Blackpool's second goal of the game.

Despite picking up a slight knock, Madine should be fine to be considered for Tuesday night's home game against Gillingham.

James Husband (ankle) and Ryan Edwards (heel), meanwhile, could also come into contention despite missing recent outings through injury.

“Hubby is more or less into full training, as is Ryan Edwards," Grayson revealed.

“Bringing Gary off on Saturday was more of a precaution more than anything and I wanted to change it slightly with Del going up there, as he gave us more pace.

“We’ve got one or two niggles from the weekend, which you expect, but no matter what options I have available and no matter what team I put out, the players have got to go out and do the business.

“There’s good competition for places because two, three or four players weren’t involved because of the level of competition we’ve got now.”

Talking about competition for places, isn't Teddy Howe worth a try instead of Turton?

I think Larry likes Turton because he's tall and can act as a Centre Back during corners. It's time he had a rest on the bench, though.

Cheers for posting this. You gotta register and pay for the gazette now. Cheeky shits. Thanks for doing the lords work

Long term injury. If I was him I’d write this season off, get surgery and come back fit and ready for the summer. Important player and almost unplayable when he’s on it

What's the injury? It would maybe explain some inconsistency just before he stopped playing as he was mustard at the start of the season.

I think our seasons pretty much over so I'd be temped to experiment bit more. Drop/rest Spearing and go with Virtue-Thick. and the new right back.

I would like to see Virtue have a go in Spearings role too. Spearing is far too hit and miss for me.

If Madine is fit, I'd still play him and Gnando - thought Madine looked a threat in the first half. I still wonder if Husband could play behind Bola and give us a bit more of a threat and protection down the left.
