We might as well start the thread now because when everyone else comes over it'll probably be a hot topic.

Here's my thoughts. I haven't enjoyed the football he's played all season and Simon Sadler said he wants to see us play entertaining football. I think his formations have been poor throughout the season and when we have won, we've never won comfortably (how many games have we won by more than 2 goals?), I think he sticks by certain players and has his favourites and whilst some have been impressed by who he has brought in this window, I've not seen much that will change our fortunes.

Ironically the Joe Nuttall comment was the straw that broke the back for me. How can the value of a player ever be the determining factor as to whether they go our on loan or for that matter get regular first team football - it's a nonsense and disrespects both the player and the fans.

Sorry Larry - managers should never return to an old stomping ground and I'm not sure you ever really had the fans support from the get-go and I doubt you'll now claw it back. Next Saturday could be an uncomfortable afternoon for one and all.

I’ll gladly give him an all expenses paid trip to the Bahamas if it meant he never came back

I think it’s easier at the moment to think of why we should get rid of him than keep him however I think he’s safe for at least 2/3 more games at least.

Lose to Tranmere at home after they play on a Thursday then he hasn’t got a leg to stand on

Anyone watch the Carragher/Keane debate on Sky yesterday (two ex-players who clearly dislike each other intensely!). I actually found myself agreeing with Roy Keane. It is a lot more than just about the manager - it's about recruitment, coaching, a team coming together and that does take time. I think, with his record, it would be daft to pot Larry now but I hope he is aware of the criticism more directed at him than his players.

I've voted give him a chance. We have been in a transition period this last couple of games and he needs to work out his best side and stop with the favouritism which is now starting to irk. Blank piece of paper, best XI, best formation and start again.

Anyone else thinking of Saturday’s game doesn’t go ahead with Wycombe and Oxford away to come it could be 10 games without a win and would that push Sadler in to action?

TEST EDIT, punctuation altered.
Whilst others have hung, drawn and quartered him, I don't feel this season as if we were ever really in 'that place' where we needed to over judge him.
Tricky first season, high expectations, buzz of the big return gone and some players showing their true colours sadly.
I would say he needs to get through this window and the next and then judge.
That said, for season tickets sales and an expectant summer, he does need to start improving performances as well as results.

I would be very surprised if Sadler sacks him. He has not been successful in business by panicking or being panicked into knee-jerk decisions and I can't see him starting now. Not when he has just significantly backed him in terms of signing players.

There would be financial implications too, I should imagine, if they terminated his contract. There has to be a limit to how much money SS is willing to part with to put the club back on an even keel, and this would simply not be necessary.

It will be interesting to keep gauging reaction to Larry based on the next result. For instance if we skipped the Tranmere game and played Wycombe next and won - would he suddenly be a better manager?

The short termism of fans is a large part of the problem. As long as we stay up safely, if we don't contend for the top six, the remainder of the season is not all that significant in the grand scheme of things. We want to win, be competitive and so on, but this all has to be seen through the prism of the club's long term future.

SS is all about setting a direction of travel for the next decade, if I am reading him and those around him correctly.
