What an epic song can’t believe I’d never heard it before!!! If you’re feeling a bit down this’ll cheer you up 😀
 
Golden Lights by 2 hits wonder Twinkle. It got to number 21 in the UK charts in 1965. Allegedly written after a trip to Blackpool to see The Batchelors, one of whom she dating before he ended the relationship. Her biggest hit was Terry which was about the death of a biker which got to number 4. Golden Lights was covered by The Smiths years later but they murdered it. Twinkle’s version is on You Tube. After quitting the pop business she wrote tv ad jingles and ended up marrying one of the actors who played the The Milk Tray Man.

Plenty of versions but probably the best is by Bellowhead (best live performance band ever in the opinion of some). Mind you - it improves the more you’re in the right mood ie pissed.
