Just been on BBC News. They are hoping to open up for tourism July latest. They only have 2500 virus cases in the whole of Greece with less than 100 deaths. No idea how they have managed it but know that they shut their borders early and went into full lockdown quickly.

Can't see us being allowed to travel by July whatever they might be doing

Incredible figures to be fair though could be down to lax recording in part

Greece desperate for money that's why..
So wait until the Brits arrive in Greece and figures will go up..
Personally I wouldn't fly anywhere for a year, planes terribe germ tubes !

They are looking at a health passport - whatever that is. Being discussed today apparently.

If the flights are available, you can travel now... Thousands of people coming in and going out of the country on a daily basis..

Greece locked down very early, they are aware they have and aging population and a health care system that would not cope with a widespread pandemic. Very wise move

very strict movement rules - you had to send a text for permission to leave your home and why, cops on roadblocks stopping every car. Islands not letting anyone in, swimming in the sea banned to prevent people gathering on beaches - all during Greek Easter their biggest holiday.

We should have been going for 3 weeks in June and again in September. The June one is cancelled as I definitely do not fancy sitting on a plane with everyone coughing and spluttering for four hours.

Greece has only done one tenth of the tests that the UK has so may not have picked up all incidences of Covid. Shutting their borders will have helped because most Covid in Greece will be imported via visitors. Until there is a vaccine I cannot imagine why anyone would want to fly in a cramped plane, in close proximity to others, to Greece or anywhere else

We have flights booked 22nd july and 25th september. I expect lots of twists and turns before then so guess I'll just wait and see.

Hi Pete, you could have said all Covid in the world has been imported by visitors.

Call me overreacting but I seriously think they should shut ALL BORDERS for a year. I know it sounds crazy and extreme but this is an extreme global event.

Dumb arseholes like the state of Florida are going back to normal and if a dozen or so of them fly over here it kicks off all over again. Close all borders. Let things get back to normal in each country before even thinking of travelling abroad again

Good numbers from Greece.

I think those figures will be used as a stick to beat the Uk's prep for this.

No travel until a vaccine or an immunity certificate

.

Especially Yorkshire into Lancashire!

Anyone going abroad this year needs to give their heads a wobble.

If you can afford to go away (and I appreciate many thousands won’t be able to afford it this year) but please support the British holiday industry absolutely no need to go abroad for the sake of one late summer. 👍

Our house is over there so guess I'll have to give my head a wobble.

Just stuff we need to do pal, but if we cant get there then so be it. Usually Grece are well behind but they seem to have handled this well.
As have Germany just can’t believe they’ve only had 5,000 Coronavirus deaths against our 17,000. 😮

I'm not that surprised by the Germans pal. That aren't known as efficient for nothing! Eurofighter were working from home a good 2 weeks before we even put restrictions in place!
