Grimmy

Obviously a decent keeper, do you reckon anyone will come in for him and would we sell?

Don’t know why, just a feeling we will have to fend a bid off for him 🤷‍♂️

Two years left on his deal so it's this summer or next to cash in.
Of course we'd sell if the right offer comes in.

I think a bid for Grimmy is very likely, he's had a very good season.
If the offer is right, I don't expect us to fend off the bid,
That's fair enough, the model being to sell for profit

In July 22, Grimmy signed a 3 +1 (seems like good business)

At his age could be a good time for him to move. He has done a great job for us and been patient

Pretty sure there was a release clause inserted when he signed that deal so that is the worry obviously if it is matched.

No idea how much it is.

Great shot stopper & pulled off some worldies this season.
Does seem to shrink at opposition set pieces & far from vocal. If a decent offer comes in & suits all parties I'd sell & go large keeper wise.
I don't think he has progressed his all round game this season as I'd hoped.

Great at some things, not so much at others, as you say. Can't see a higher level taking him as a No 1, nor paying 'the right money' for him to be a No 2.

He needs another season here and probably a change of coaches (2).

He'll start away at Rotherham opening day.

I hate all this talk of 'sell if the price is right'.
Bollocks. You build a squad to go up and not one to sell at the earliest opportunity.
I know we're not a cash rich club but if we sold Grimmy I think that'd be it for me after this season.
Show some ambition FFS!
100% agree! Might as well throw the towel in now and put Tony Parr in goal!

He is a great shot stopper and comes out of his area well. But he definitely has room for improvement on commanding his area from set pieces and crosses

We're a selling Club full stop. No surprise if we sold our few player assets i.e. Grimshaw, Gabriel and Apter.
Every club is a selling club unless you're in the elite few. The Peterborough model is what we should be trying to emulate, which I think we have done with Bowler, Yates etc (although I'm not sure we've adequtely replaced them, as Posh would). Anyone who thinks we are above selling our best players is deluded.

Having watched and supported Pool since 1957 and seen our best players consistently sold over the years I'm far from deluded.

There are a couple of decent keepers out of contract this summer that we could snap up...

Marko Marosi - Shrewsbury - age 30 - 6"4, player of the season 22/23, fans player of season 23/24, also won their last 3 player of the months.
Jon Mccracken - Norwich - age 23 - Impressed on loan at Dundee (Scottish Prem) keeping a 45% clean sheet rate.

Stupid comment…nothing to do with ambition just reality.

Grimmy is a class keeper to me especially at this level.I’m not convinced we could do much better tbh,I’d much prefer him than someone 6ft 5 who takes an ice age to get down.
