Shows that Cummings was dripping poison into Johnson's ear back at the start of the pandemic, and seemingly plotting this from the start.

I think all the 'far out ideas' came from Cummings...I know this because he's similar to me and I'd have been the one saying all the shit that needed to be said but everyone else was scared to. Its also the same personality trait that sees him releasing loads of stuff that should really not be aired in public...I'm sure all governments run through wierd shit suggestions as part of wider policy decisions and no doubt quite rightly a lot if it would never ever see the light of day (I'm fully aware some of my own views on things would be seen as extreme and totally understand why they would never be adopted)

I suppose it all makes for juicy political scoring...although steer clear Keir seems to avoid it but Cummings is filling that gap right now (and likely breaking the official secrets act in the process imho)

All seems to be WhatsApp and texts which are banned as sources of official record for public servants because of the automatic deletion removing the ability to ask for information under FOI. Unaccountable.

I think you're right. We also HAVE to use WhatsApp at my work. I hate it, I don't want it on my phone, it's not an official record of engagement on our company and it shouldn't be being used to conduct Government business (I include all opposition parties in this as well) anything to do with the machinations of government whether the ruling party or opposition should only ever be conducted via authorised technologies (although not sure how that would ever be totally policed tbf)

Civil Servants have been told not to use it under any circumstances because of the lack of accountability. Politicians, as we know, don't bother with the rules even though they are under the same restrictions.
 
We don't use WhatsApp for work, but there's a social group from work that I was added to without my permission, I didn't realise that if you leave a group they all find out. Oh well.

Oh yes there's no escape trust me...they can add you without your permission and as you say they can all see if you leave. It's insidious
